In November 2017, Warner Bros revealed the new cast of the second movie of the series, along with the new title: Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. We will have to wait until 2018 to watch the second movie in a series of five, but the synopsis has already been revealed:

“Grindelwald has made a dramatic escape and has been gathering more followers to his cause—elevating wizards above all non-magical beings. The only one who might be able to stop him is the wizard he once called his dearest friend, Albus Dumbledore. But Dumbledore will need help from the wizard who had thwarted Grindelwald once before, his former student Newt Scamander.”

Fans of the Harry Potter universe have been looking for answers while they wait to see what will happen in the next Fantastic Beasts movie, and found seven secrets that have been revealed. Make sure you read this article until the end to know how Dumbledore secretly feels about Grindelwald:

7. Newt and Tina will end up together.

If you take a closer look at the characters of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, you'll see that the beautiful Tina Goldstein (Katherine Waterston) is back as an Auror for MACUSA. Not only the ministry is giving her the attention that she deserves, but we think that Newt (Eddie Redmayne) will also be more interested in her. One of the first thing that he told her in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was that she had something on her noes. Does that remind you of something? Ron Weasley did the same thing in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and the two ended up together. As Tina had nothing on her nose, we think that it is only a reference to the popular movie.

And we actually have the proof that they end up together. In the book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newton Scamander, we can read "Now retired, [Newt] lives in Dorset with his wife Porpentina and their pet Kneazles: Hoppy, Milly, and Mauler." They even had a grandson, Rolf Scamander, who married Luna Lovegood. So we do know that they end up together, we just don't know when this is going to happen. After all, we still have four more movies to watch!

6. Credence will be back.

If you look at the picture of the cast revealed by Warner Bros, you will see that Credence Barebone (Ezra Miller) is back. In case you don't remember him from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, he was a wizard adopted by Mary Lou, the leader of the anti-witchcraft group, the New-Salem Philanthropic Society, who turned out to be a dangerous Obscurial. Aurors from MACUSA tried to stop him with destructive spells and thought that they won until Newt saw a single shred of his obscurus. And Pottermore later confirmed that he would be coming back in a "mysterious way."

5. We'll learn more about a Maledictus.

On the picture, you can see Credence posing with actress Claudia Kim, whose character's name was not revealed. The only thing we know about her is that she is a Maledictus, the carrier of a blood curse that destines her to ultimately transform into a beast. A Maledictus was only mentioned in the Harry Potter series with the case of Astoria Malfoy.

As "mal" means "bad" and "dictus" means "spoken" in Latin, we can imagine why this young woman looks so scared on the picture. However, it looks like this character is quite entertaining as she will be an attraction in a wizarding circus owned by Skender (Ólafur Darri Ólafsson), as we can read on Pottermore. Newt probably won't be happy to see any fantastic beasts trapped there...

4. Leta Lestrange brings drama.

If you watched Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, you probably remember the photograph of Leta Lestrange (Zoe Kravitz) inside Newt's shed. Queenie (Alison Sudol) understood who it was: a really close friend he had at school for years while they shared a common interest for studying magical creatures. She described her as a taker, but Newt needed a giver. One of experiment involving a Jarvey went wrong, endangering another student. Newt didn't want her to be expelled so he took the blame for her and was expelled in her place. Many Harry Potter fans also recognized that last name, as the terrifying Bellatrix Lestrange came from a pure-blood extremist family.

When asked about what she was doing, Newt told Queenie that he didn't really know what she liked these days because people change. He won't be happy to hear that she is now engaged to Newt's celebrated brother, Theseus (Callum Turner), who's not only a war hero but also the Head of the Auror Office at the British Ministry of Magic. Director David Yates confirmed that this friendship will be explored in the next Fantastic Beasts movie:

"Leta comes into the second movie. She's quite complicated, a little damaged, and confused. She's kind of a tragic figure in a way. [...] Newt is still absolutely in love with [Leta], so she has a kind of power over him."

Surprisingly, her name means "The Merry" in Latin, so we are not sure whether she is good or not. One thing is sure, we will see a lot of drama in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

3. Jacob Kowalski will be back.

The picture of the cast revealed once again that another character will be back. And this time, it is Jacob Kowalski (Dan Fogler) along with Queenie. The no-maj had been obliviated at the end of the first film. But in the final scene, we could see the two lovers reunited in the bakery. If you read the screenplay, you know that there was a "flicker of memory" in that moment. Does it mean that they will be back together? As they are posing together in the picture, we can take that as a good sign, even though nothing proves that they will get married, yet.

2. Dumbledore's is in love —or hate.

If you are a true Potterhead, you probably already know that J.K. Rowling revealed in 2007 that Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) was gay during a question-and-answer session in New York. A fan asked "Did Dumbledore, who believed in the prevailing power of love, ever fall in love himself?" and the writer answered:

"My truthful answer to you... I always thought of Dumbledore as gay. Dumbledore fell in love with Grindelwald, and that added to his horror when Grindelwald showed himself to be what he was. To an extent, do we say it excused Dumbledore a little more because falling in love can blind us to an extent, but he met someone as brilliant as he was and, rather like Bellatrix, he was very drawn to this brilliant person and horribly, terribly let down by him. Yeah, that's how I always saw Dumbledore. In fact, recently I was in a script read-through for the sixth film, and they had Dumbledore saying a line to Harry early in the script saying, "I knew a girl once, whose hair..." I had to write a little note in the margin and slide it along to the scriptwriter, "Dumbledore's gay!"'

In November 2016, Rowling also revealed:

“You will see Dumbledore as a younger man and quite a troubled man. We’ll see him at that formative period of his life. As far as his sexuality is concerned, watch this space.”

So we do know that Albus was in love with Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) and we can't wait to see how their relationship will affect the First Wizarding Love. Is he still in love or is he ready to destroy him? As the author also said: “I would like to say because this is obviously a five-part story, there’s lots to unpack in that relationship.”

1. There will be a duel.

The synopsis revealed that Grindelwald won't stay in prison for too long, as he still wants to expose the wizarding community to the non-magical world and end the International Statute of Secrecy. In Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, he will have to gather follower for his cause, while many suspect that is true intention is to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule all non-magical beings, as it is possible to read on Pottermore.

We have heard Ron said that "Dumbledore is particularly famous for his defeat of the dark wizard Grindelwald in 1945." We also know that the two became friends and became obsessed with the powerful objects known as the Deathly Hallows. During a duel, Ariana Dumbledore was killed, causing the end of their friendship and forcing the dark wizard to flee. He soon stole the Elder Wand from Gregorovitch and became the most powerful dark wizard. Dumbledore was known as the only wizard who could stop him and procrastinated until he couldn't take it anymore. People say that it was the greatest wizarding duel of all time and that Dumbledore won, but so many details are missing.

If you look closely, you'll notice that Grindelwald already has the Elder wand on the picture. This is where his story starts. However, as the stories is set in the twenties in Paris and London, it looks like we won't see the duel anytime soon. What is coming next? We'll have to wait until 2018 to watch Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald to find out.

(Nicholas Flamel (Brontis Jodorwosky), who used to be Dumbledore's friend, will also appear, but that's all we know about him.)

(Warner Bros confirmed that the movie will include some "surprising nods" to the Harry Potter stories.)
