Do you think Dumbledore will mourn for you?

I'm a little bit too happy right now to write a good introduction to this article. So, let's just jump into it.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is coming this November, and the official trailer was just released at Comic-Con. So, I'm gonna do a frame-by-frame analysis of the trailer to make predictions about the film, while also giving information.

So, here we go!

OMG, we're back at Hogwarts. We're back at Hogwarts. Do you see the castle? Do you recognize it? It's Hogwarts. OMG. I'm fanboying so much right now.

In this short scene at the beginning, we see Dumbledore teaching a Defense Against the Dark Arts class. Now, a lot of Potterheads like me were initially confused by this, as Dumbledore was the Transfiguration professor before becoming Headmaster.

Well, here's the thing: Tom Riddle said that Dumbledore was the Transfiguration teacher while he was at Hogwarts. Fantastic Beasts 2 takes place in 1927, and Riddle didn't arrive at Hogwarts until 1938. So, Dumbledore must have simply changed subjects while at Hogwarts.

Can I just point out that the actor they got for young Newt (Joshua Shea), was PERFECT for the role? He looks so much like a young Eddie Redmayne that it actually freaked me out.

Behind Newt is a girl who looks a bit like Leta Lestrange. If you look at her tie, you'll see that she's a Slytherin, just like the rest of her family. She also looks like she's a bit zoned out.

In Dumbledore's D.A.D.A. class, he has the class lined up and they are taking turns performing the Boggart-Banishing Spell on a Boggart. This is, of course, very similar to the class led by Remus Lupin in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

Also, Lupin taught third-year students about Boggarts, and given the way the students look in the trailer, I believe they're also third-years. And I think this Boggart scene will take place in the beginning of the film, as some sequels begin with flashbacks.

Newt faces the Boggart and it becomes a desk. Dumbledore questions him, and he says that his greatest fear is having to work in an office. The class laughs at the statement.

Okay, for the record, I praised the casting for young Newt due to the similarity in appearance, but Shea got Newt's mannerisms PERFECTLY. He looks away from people when he talks, and gives off the shy personality that Redmayne also delivers in his portrayal.

Also, as the class laughs at Newt's biggest fear, you can see that Leta doesn't even smirk, and remains zoned out.

In this shot, the blue statue moves its hand and pulls up her dress. It appears that this is taking place in the Muggle world, which is why Tina seems to be looking around, standing in front and trying to make sure no one sees the moving statue.

The statue likely leads to a secret passageway, as the function is similar to the one-eyed witch passageway in Hogwarts. We don't know where the secret passageway might be going, but as there are three secret passageways to Hogwarts we don't know about, it might go to Hogwarts.

It makes sense for it to go to Hogwarts as well, since Tina would be able to apparate anywhere else.

This shot is of a freak show called "Le Cirque Arcanus", which translates to "The Circus Arcanus". If you look under the title of the show, you'll see the words, "Musee des Curiosites Vivantes", which is French for "Museum of Living Curiosities."

Here, we see Credence looking at advertisements of the circus. The ads showcase some acts such as the Infant Demonic and the Homo Amphibia.

From what was seen in the teaser trailer, it seems like Credence will join the Circus Arcanus as a way to make use of his Obscurus.

In this shot, we see MACUSA officials bringing Grindelwald to prison. This is likely at the beginning of the film, as the premise of the film involves Grindelwald escaping custody.

Newt picks up a small postcard with Paris on it. And I believe a lot of this film will be taking place in Paris.

Throughout the trailer, we hear Grindelwald say, "Magic blooms only in rare souls. Still, we must sulk in shadows. But the old ways serve us no longer."

I assume that Grindelwald is speaking either to criminals or simply a large number of strangers, and he is trying to gather followers for his army. According to the Harry Potter Wiki, Grindelwald's army wanted to expose the magical community and start a war with the Muggles.

We see a woman approaching the Eiffel Tower in this scene. The woman doesn't yet have a name, but we know that she is a Maledictus, portrayed by Claudia Kim.

A Maledictus is an individual with cursed blood, eventually transforming them to a beast. This Maledictus will be a performer in the Circus Arcanus. Some have theorized that she will transform into Nagini.

In this shot, we see Grindelwald watching Credence. And it appears that this may be the first time they're seeing each other after the previous film, where he was impersonating Graves. Grindelwald definitely recognizes him.

And just, by the way, have I mentioned that I hate Grindelwald's appearance? I mean, that can't ACTUALLY be his real face. He had to have disguised himself like that. How are we supposed to believe Dumbledore fell in love with THAT hideous person?

I don't know what these creatures are called. But they look like giant cats that somehow look more evil than normal cats.

We also hear a voice that says, "I take it you've heard the rumors... Grindelwald had a vision...that he will rise to dominance over the wizarding world."

Now, this is pretty interesting. We see a floating glove pointing toward St. Paul's Cathedral. When Newt grabs it, he ends up Apparating to the top of the cathedral.

So, the glove may be a Portkey or some sort of magic that we haven't yet seen in the Potter universe.

Dumbledore is seen looking in the Mirror of Erised in this scene. Next to him, he sees Grindelwald. This may be because Dumbledore feels the need to see him again.

This scene may be in the Room of Requirement because according to Pottermore, that's where the mirror was before Dumbledore put it to use in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

We see the adult Leta Lestrange in this shot, portrayed by Zoë Kravitz. She also looks a bit zoned out here as well.

Newt lets out his Niffler here. Not sure why, but he does.

We know from this that at some point in the film, Leta will team up with Newt and Tina during an action sequence. But we don't really get a context for the scene.

This shot contains a large blue monster. It looks almost like Fiendfyre, but blue.

We finally hear Leta speak. She says, "You're too good, Newt. You never met a monster you couldn't love." And I believe she's not talking about his beasts in his suitcase. I believe she's talking about herself. She feels guilt for getting Newt expelled.

So, we know Credence is gonna be in the sequel, and he'll probably join the circus. Here, we see him lash out again, and I think we might see more of his Obscurus in this movie.

This is a very cool shot of Grindelwald riding in a carriage. This may be Grindelwald's escape from custody near the beginning of the film.

Okay. Alright. THAT IS THE ELDER WAND. It's been established that from 1899-1945, Grindelwald was the master of the Elder Wand. And we see the wand very clearly here.

And here's something worth noting: if Newt overpowered Grindelwald at the end of the original Fantastic Beasts, wouldn't that make NEWT the owner of the Elder Wand?

I believe this scene takes place immediately after a fight with Grindelwald. You can see Newt and his older brother, Theseus Scamander, face off with him.

"Mr. Scamander! Do you think Dumbledore will mourn for you?"

Behind Grindelwald, you see a character named Vinda Rosier, who is a loyal and trusted follower of Grindelwald. She is holding a shiny golden object, and I have no idea what that may be.

Right before we see the title of the film, we get a glimpse of the Deathly Hallows symbol. I hope the Deathly Hallows get incorporated into this FB franchise somehow.

HOLY F&$%, IT'S NICOLAS FLAMEL!!! IN THE FLESH!

If you don't know who Flamel is, I'd advise you get the hell out of here and never come back. Honestly, don't you read? Nicolas Flamel is the only known maker of the Philosopher's Stone, and he was said to have done work on alchemy with Dumbledore.

By the way, I'm American, but most people know it as Philosopher's Stone, not Sorcerer's Stone, so I'll go with that.

DAMN, this movie looks good. I'll have more predictions and theories soon, but for now, that's it.
