The latest episode of Four Weddings and a Funeral lands on Hulu today, Wed., 7 August 2019. With the closing scene of "The Winner Takes It All" brings back memories of how the 1994 Mike Newell directed feature film of the same title ended, it left us wondering if Duffy (John Reynolds) asking Maya (Nathalie Emmanuel) were going to find love.

Rather than seeing Duffy (John Reynolds) ask Maya (Nathalie Emmanuel) if she “might agree to not marry him,” the English teacher and aspiring novelist professes his love without a reference to ‘marriage’ anywhere insight.

The morning after, the first scene of "Love, Chalet," finds Maya waking up in bed with Duffy. Maya has a ‘morning after the night before’ facial expression which indicates she’s trying to recall the details.

Meanwhile, on "Love Chalet," things are seriously heating up for Zara (Sophia La Porta) as she settles into life without Craig (Brandon Mychal Smith). Conceptually speaking, "Love Chalet" is a fictional version of ITV’s Love Island.

It’s one of those ridiculous shows where people looking for love, romance, and a little adventure to spice up their lives flaunt it all for television viewers. We can blame shows such as Big Brother, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and The Real Housewives of [pick a city] for the continued influx of reality television.

Do the creators of the miniseries Four Weddings and a Funeral think Britons have nothing better to do with their time than watch "Love, Chalet"? Everyone in this miniseries, including the Americans, can’t draw themselves away from watching it. Apparently, from scenes clearly depicting the British monarch, Queen Elizabeth II tunes in to "Love, Chalet" see whether Zara will get her man.

While life seems well for Zara, Craig is walking around like a lovesick schoolchild in search of his happily ever after. Craig seems to think Zara is pining after him every bit as much as he is for her.

Zara and Craig had this thing where, if they needed rescuing from someone lame, they would scratch the forehead. When Craig tells Duffy about their signal, because Zara would scratch her forehead pretty much all the time, the English teacher suddenly realises Zara must think him lame.

Craig arranges a television viewing party with his friends so that they can watch "Love, Chalet" together. Because Zara is the one that arranged all the parties when she and Craig were together, the party host talks Kash (Nikesh Patel) into bringing with him to the party “napkins, ice, paper plates, plastic forks and two microwavable safe serving bowls.”

When Craig mentions Maya will be at the party, with Kash obviously referencing Duffy as an afterthought, his interest in her is readily apparent.

Even though we're initially focusing on Maya and Duffy getting together, understanding that they have known each other forever, we seem to be forgetting the third wheel in the scenario. How does Kash feel about Maya and Duffy becoming a thing? Later, at the party, when Duffy introduces Maya to Basheer (Guz Khan) as his girlfriend, Kash’s facial expression drops like a lead balloon.

Yes, Kash has been on a few chaperoned-dates with Fatima (Rakhee Thakrar), but this relationship will not last. Kash doesn’t strike anyone as being religious type.

Despite Fatima being fine with Pakistani traditions, Kash isn’t remotely a traditionalist in any sense of the word. Because he's accustomed to a western lifestyle, an arranged marriage is not something which will work for him.

The "Love, Chalet" watch party doesn’t go as either Craig or Kash were hoping. While Craig was hoping for signs from Zara that she still had feelings for him, Kash was possibly looking to connect with Maya. The news that Maya and Duffy are now seeing each other came as a real shock to the system. As for Craig, his distress mounts as the episode progresses. Craig’s heartbreak is written all over his face.

In a bizarre not completely unexpected twist to the Zara Craig story, Craig shows up on "Love, Chalet" to plead his case to his one true love. Craig spills all his secrets to Zara, but when he asks her to marry him, she says no. Even with a night on the town with all his friends, Craig can’t get past how he feels about Zara.

The episode ends with Zara proving Craig right when, when the finale episode of "Love, Chalet" is televised, she returns to him. The last thing she does is scratch her forehead.
