Over on MahMuseComics, I run a Week of Marvels series in which I look at all the latest news for Marvel's superheroes. Well, here I'll be sharing the pick of the Cinematic Universe news!

The big news of the week is, of course, the trailer for Captain America: Civil War. It’s actually quite an odd trailer in many ways, in that it focuses in purely on the dynamic between Captain America and Iron Man, and offers very few clues as to the roles of Daniel Bruhl’s Zemo and Frank Grillo’s Crossbones (the latter makes a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance).

Check out my full trailer analysis!

This has been accompanied by a series of breathtaking posters:

Marvel also updated the official synopsis for Captain America: Civil War:

Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results incollateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.

Anthony and Joe Russo have been interviewed by Empire Online, and the interview spills a lot of the beans – including further hinting that, while there’s a very personal narrative going on in the movie, the overarching themes of legislation and betrayal will run through the film too. I’m eagerly anticipating the second trailer.

In other Captain America: Civil War news, Tom Holland’s been widely interviewed discussing the experience of playing Spider-Man. He’s extremely complimentary about Andrew Garfield’s portrayal of the Wall-Crawler; check out Comic Book Movie for the full details.

Fans have been poring over Jessica Jones, looking at the easter eggs and trying to work out what it means for the future of the Marvel Cinematic / Netflix / TV Universe! Discussion about Season 2 has led to a few comments that it’s more likely to happen after the Defenders series pulls the Netflix superheroes together.

Excitement is building for the second series of Agent Carter! Meanwhile, Natalia Cordova-Buckley has been signed up to play the character of Slingshot in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.! Slingshot was a character in the Secret Warriors comic series, which seems to have loosely inspired a lot of this season.

Doctor Strange

This week, Marvel has officially announced that production has started out on Doctor Strange! They also released the first synopsis, which won’t come with any particular surprises to anyone who’s familiar with the good Doctor:

“Doctor Strange follows the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.”

Marvel's Phase Two Box Set

The artwork for Marvel’s Phase Two box set is outstanding. Matt Ferguson’s work is a sight to behold - check it out!

Yes, a certain Professor Xavier was interviewed on The Graham Norton Show! Meanwhile, in other Fox news, no surprise: Fox have cancelled the sequel to Fantastic Four. I don’t think anybody would have expected any less…
