I have no idea what took me so long to write this article, but BOY, am I excited to talk about this movie.

Back in 2000, filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan was just coming off the success of his supernatural horror film, The Sixth Sense. And he released his next film, a superhero thriller called Unbreakable, starring Bruce Willis as a man named David Dunn, who discovers that he cannot get injured or be sick.

And it's definitely one of my favorite movies of all time. I personally like it more than The Sixth Sense. This film was just so well-made and the performances were perfect.

But after Unbreakable, Shyamalan's career kinda went down the drain. No one liked After Earth, honestly. However, in 2016, he released a movie called Split, which was actually surprisingly good. And the ending was a bit of a shocker.

YEP. It's David Dunn! And it turns out Split was a secret stand-alone sequel to Unbreakable, and next year, we're gonna get a movie where the two movies will come together.

We're gonna see David, Elijah Price, and Kevin Wendell Crumb together in the same movie. And a trailer has been released for Glass.

So, I decided to go through this trailer frame-by-frame, give you guys some information on the movie, and make a few predictions based on what I see in the trailer.

Here We Go!

We get our first look at Sarah Paulson as Dr. Ellie Staple, a new character in the film. She introduces herself as a psychiatrist who specializes in delusions of grandeur, studying people who believe they are superheroes.

This is nothing extraordinary, but if you look at the Universal logo in the trailer, you can see that it's been tinged with purple, which is supposed to reflect the color of clothing that Elijah Price wears most often.

And here, we see our main cast. On the left, Elijah Price, also known as Mr. Glass, portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson. In the middle, it's Kevin Wendell Crumb, portrayed by James McAvoy. And on the right, David Dunn, portrayed by Willis in what may be his first successful film in years.

Something to note is that Dunn is in handcuffs, but Crumb and Elijah aren't, even though Dunn is supposed to be the "hero" and they're supposed to be villains.

Here, we get a shot of Price's comic book museum, Limited Edition. The color palette for this film seems like it's going to be very purple, unlike the color palette of Unbreakable, which was primarily blue.

We hear Staple say, "The three of you have convinced yourselves you have extraordinary gifts, like something out of a comic book." As she says that, we see the shot above of a comic book.

In the comic, we can see a bare-chested man breaking open a wall. This may be in reference to the actions of the Beast in Split, and may have a very important role in the movie.

In this shot, we see the back of Dunn, in his security jacket in the pouring rain. The shot resembles the scene in Unbreakable in which Dunn saved children from a sadistic janitor.

We then hear Staple reference the events of Unbreakable, when she mentions that Dunn survived a train crash.

A woman asks Dunn, "What do you do?" He responds, "I work in security." This woman sounds like she's flirting with Dunn. In Unbreakable, we saw Dunn hit on another woman on the train.

Robin Wright, the actress who portrayed Audrey Dunn, has not been confirmed to reprise her role in the sequel. So, I believe Dunn may be divorced in this film.

Here, we see Dunn knocking down someone in a house. From this, we can assume that after his first act of heroism in Unbreakable, he continued to fight criminals.

Dunn bumps into someone in this shot and gets a vision of their past wrongdoings.

He sees a vision of four cheerleaders, kidnapped and chained in a dark room. This is very reminiscent of what "Dennis" did to Casey, Claire, and Marcia in Split.

And in the next shot, you can see why.

I believe that this is the moment where Dunn first runs into Crumb. However, I am unsure of whether or not this was just a coincidence or if it was planned by Dunn.

Because at the end of Split, it was clear that Dunn knew who "The Horde" was, and Dunn may have been trying to track him down.

And in this shot, we get another look at the Beast.

Here, we can see Casey is back, and she speaks to "Hedwig" in this scene. Casey may have visited Crumb in order to try to bring back his old self.

And we hear Elijah narrating. This is what he says:

"My bones break easily. I've had 94 breaks in my life. This is not a cartoon. This is the real world. And yet, some of us still don't die with bullets. Some of us can still bend steel. I've been waiting for the world to see that we exist."

WOW. That is some powerful dialogue. I hope we can actually hear him deliver this in the movie. And I think he'll deliver it to Crumb.

Elijah asks Crumb, "May I meet the Beast?" And the Beast arrives inside Crumb. It appears that Crumb can now control when he can transform into the Beast, kind of like Bruce Banner.

And according to Crumb, the Beast likes Elijah.

Elijah says, "That sounds like the bad guys teaming up." So, I believe that Elijah and the Beast are gonna be teaming up against Dunn.

And the reason I believe the Beast likes Elijah is because Elijah has bones that are easily broken. And as the Beast put it in Split, "the broken are the more evolved."

Earlier, we saw that Crumb had kidnapped four cheerleaders, and Dunn found out by bumping into him. Well, it appears that upon seeing this, Dunn followed Crumb and saved the cheerleaders.

You see the four cheerleaders and Dunn above, and right when Dunn saves them, you can see the Beast climbing a pipe. This movie looks fantastic.

Dunn is seen here, locked in the institution. This is basically the same fate that Elijah receives at the end of Unbreakable. So, how the tables have turned.

In this quick scene, Dunn breaks down the door keeping him in his cell. And I think this is gonna be a slow scene. A scene in which Dunn continuously hits against the door, but it won't budge.

However, he is unbreakable. So, he slams his body against the door and eventually, he is able to knock down the door. I think it's gonna be a slow scene because that's Shyamalan's style. His films are usually quiet and suspenseful. He doesn't put fast-paced action in his movies.

We get our first look at a large fight between Dunn and the Beast. Now, why does the Beast fight Dunn? Well, it's not only because he likes Elijah.

"The broken are the more evolved." That's what the Beast believes. So, to him, the least evolved are the ones that cannot be broken. The one who is unbreakable.

And here, we see Dunn getting choked by the Beast underwater. You may remember that in Unbreakable, Dunn's biggest weakness is water, and he chokes and drowns easier than others.

"What do we call you, sir?""First name: Mister. Last name... Glass."

I personally do not believe that this quote will be in the film, because it just seems like it only works in a trailer.

But anyways, I'm super excited to see Dunn back on the big screen, facing off with Elijah and the Beast. Why does Elijah team up with the Beast?

At the end of Unbreakable, Elijah tells Dunn that his only purpose is to be the villain to Dunn's hero. But Dunn cannot be broken, and Elijah breaks easily. So, in order for Elijah to be a worthy adversary, he must have a person physically capable of taking on Dunn.

The Beast, like Dunn, is virtually unbreakable. In fact, the Beast is likely stronger than Dunn. That's why the Beast wants to kill Dunn.

WOW, THIS MOVIE LOOKS AMAZING!!! Thank you for reading.
