Callie & Arizona

DISCLAIMER: If you have not watched this episode or plan on watching this episode, there will be spoilers.

This episode is all about the custody battle between Callie and Arizona. This episode had me on the edge of my seat and I will tell you why. I was torn between Callie and Arizona because of course Callie is the birth mother and had not planned a baby with Arizona, so for Arizona to get sole custody it made me feel a certain way. But then Arizona help raised Sophia as well as adopted her, so she has just as much of a right as Callie.

When I thought about Callie having custody in NY my thoughts were, well she can't just pick up and take Sophie to NY without the other parent and try and raise her with someone new. On the other hand, if Arizona had custody, nothing would change much. She just wouldn't be able to see Callie as much.

But if you think about the points that were brought up, they are both surgeons, which are very difficult jobs with difficult schedules. And if we compare the two Arizona's schedule is very unpredictable, and, without Callie being there, who can she call to take Sophia when she is called in? At the very least, Callie has Penny.

In the show, they brought up that Arizona tends to switch off with Callie very often to go out. We don't know that Callie does or does not do the same.

But I just think it sucks that Arizona has sole custody. I personally keep dwelling on the fact that Arizona had no part of planning the Sophia. She was sort of forced into it because she wanted to rekindle her relationship with Callie, and, because they were married, she wanted to have legal rights to Sophie, which is something anyone would do because, when you are married and there is a child, that only makes sense. Of course, you don't think about divorce at that moment, and situations like this don't come across our minds. And then she walked out of the court to take on a case of work. It proves more on the fact of how she could take care of Sophie alone when things like this happen all the time.

Honestly, I didn't think it was a good idea for Callie to just pick up and move to NY with Penny in the first place. They have only been dating for a few months. But we know Callie and she moves to fast and she means well. And if we are being completely honest I think Penny should have tried to get her to stay there in Seattle. If I was the judge, and this situation was real life and not a TV show, I would have given custody to Callie because I am still stuck on the fact that she cants even see her own child who she gave birth to. She didn't even plan on having a child with Arizona. It's not like Callie is unstable and not fit or on drugs or has a past. There is nothing that shows she can't take her to NY. Arizona doesn't either. But because Arizona adopted Sophia, she has the same rights. But if it was me, I would still sit on that to help the case. Since Penny came into the picture with Derek's death I haven't liked her. And then, she didn't tell Callie about it. If his death played a big part in your career why wouldn't you tell Callie? She should have come out and been honest from the start she wouldn't have been so bad. Because I was first mad because she didn't do her best with Derek, but she is just an intern and didn't know better...

But what do you guys think?
