Last Friday, Netflix released Iron Fist, the latest Marvel series, which follows Danny Rand as he tackles the shadow organization, The Hand. Throughout the 13-episode season, Danny's adventures take him all over New York City and beyond. He encounters many new faces, but one in particular was missing.
Stan Lee has been known to cameo in practically every Marvel project, but wasn't spotted in the Iron Fist series. He did, however, make a cameo — just not the way you'd expect.
Instead of popping up at an arbitrary moment like he's done in the past, Stan Lee's face appeared on a "Join the NYPD" advertisement in Iron Fist. The scene takes place in Episode 13, as Ward Meachum walks with his sister Joy.
The poster wasn't seen for too long, but it stuck around long enough for us to be certain that it was none other than Lee's face, depicting him as a spokesperson for the NYPD, promoting pride among New York police.
Even though Lee wasn't present physically for the series, he still fulfilled his self-proclaimed obligation to cameo in all Marvel projects by tacking his face on to a poster. This is similar to his cameo in Season 1 of Luke Cage, so Stan Lee could be making similar photographic appearances in Netflix's series of Marvel shows, including the upcoming The Defenders series.
Iron Fist is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
