If you've been waiting to see the Jaeger's and Kaiju duke it out once more in Neo Tokyo, it looks like you will be waiting a bit longer as it has been announced today that the Feb. 23rd, 2018 launch has now been pushed back a bit more. Starting on March 23rd, 2018 (if this is the last time), fans will once more get to see Scott Eastwood, jing Tian, Rinko Kikuci, Charlie Day, once more return to the big screen together.

The movie serves as a follow up to the 2013 sleeper hit Pacific Rim, directed and co-written by Steven S. DeKnight along with Emily Carmichael, Kira Snynder, and T.S. Nowling from a story originally created by Guillermo del Toro.

Jake Pentecost played by John Boyega (Credits: Legendary)

Boyega plays the son of Stacker Pentecost.

Following on his fathers legacy, Jake Pentecost (Boyega) the son of Stacker Pentecost (Idris Elba), will take up arms in a massive robotic machine known as a Jaeger. His job as a pilot starts when monstrous Kaiju once more arise from the depths of the seas and once more set humanity on a path of war that could cost the lives of millions.

Jake will take on the role as a Jaegar pilot just as his father did before him. The film will once more see two pilots work together in order to stop the threat that could destroy humanity. While Jaeger's do provide an equal fighting ground against the Kaiju, resources have grown limited. With humanity on the edge of defeat, two unlikely heroes will venture forth in a legendary and seemingly obsolete machine from the past.

These two will work together with the rest of humanity to fight back and attempt to stop humanities ever-growing risk of an apocalypse.

'Pacific Rim: Uprising' has a stiff competition on its release weekend.

As it prepares for its launch, Legendary will set forth to compete against the newly revamped Robin Hood by Lionsgate, Action Point by Paramount Pictures, and Sherlock Gnomes, which are all set to premier that weekend. Legendary and Universal will see a tough challenge, but if it proves to be its worth, it could gross in as much as the original film with over $411 million at the worldwide box office.

While the forecast for the films earnings could be hard to beat there's no doubt that Pacific Rim: Uprising will see success in some thanks to the extremely talented John Boyega.

Lets just hope we don't see anymore rescheduling since the film already passed its initial April 7th, 2017 and August 4th, 2017 release windows.
