#Hufflepuff is one of the houses that gets a little overlooked in the Harry Potter series. While there are some prominent members of the house that show up in the series, like Nymphadora Tonks and Cedric Diggory, they were never a favored house, with Draco even saying in book one that he would rather go home than be placed in it. Even in the fanmade musical on YouTube, A Very Potter Musical, they couldn't help but poke fun at it.

Hufflepuffs are now being thrust full and center in the latest tale from J.K. Rowling, #FantasticBeastsandWheretoFindThem, with protagonist #NewtScamander having been a member of the house during his time at Hogwarts. #EddieRedmayne, star of the film, posted a passionate PSA for House Hufflepuff, pleading with other Hogwarts houses not to ignore them anymore and for Hufflepuffs to stand tall with pride. He made sure from the beginning to show where his solidarity was, stating:

"I am a Hufflepuff... Actually, no, I am a PROUD Hufflepuff."

While the Hufflepuffs have been overlooked for much of the series, as well as the fandom, it is clear that we (yes, I'm a proud Hufflepuff, too) are a strong house with good values. We stand up for what is right (as Eddie mentions) not for the glory, but because it is what is right. How can you argue with him as well as #JKRowling, who has said in the past that Hufflepuff is actually her favorite? Don't believe me? Check out the video below:

So the next time you take a sorting hat quiz hoping for a different house just to find yourself placed in #Hufflepuff, remember that you are a member of a loyal group of friends who are a great house to be a part of. I know I feel lucky to be included in it myself.
