I Love Jack Nicholson and This Is Probably the Best Acceptance Speech Ever!

Jack Nicholson ladies and gentleman.

Back in the early 70s, Nicholson starred in two great films for which he received a ‘leading actor in a role’ BAFTA nomination and went on to win it. So at the 1974 BAFTA awards ceremony hosted by the suave and astute David Niven, it was time and with names such as Albert Finney, Gene Hackman and Al Pacino making it into the list of nominees for the best leading actor, it sure was a talented lot.

Jack Nicholson won the Best Actor award for his performance in two films The Last Detail and Roman Polanski’s mood mystery thriller, Chinatown. But Jack was busy shooting for the movie One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest which would later on win 5 major Oscars. You know Jack and his commitment to work! What followed was a satellite up-link acceptance speech from the set of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest with a little help from his cerebral gang until Louise Fletcher as Nurse Ratched concludes the speech saying, “Hello, sorry for interrupting but Mr. Nicholson has to come with me now.”

I hate Nurse Ratched.

Supporting cast members all remained in character including photobombing nurses, Chief raising his fist for freedom; a gymnastic dude showing off his moves, baby faced Danny DeVito munching around while Nicholson tells viewers: "I've been institutionalized."

Well played Jack, well played!

Although, I’m guessing Jack smashing the glass wasn't purely coincidental as the Shy Chief escapes the same way in the movie and all.
