Every week I will list the indie films that are getting added to Netflix over the next seven days so you indie fans are up-to-date and ready for them!

Here are the indie films that are hitting Netflix between the May 8 and 15:

'Nitro Circus: The Movie'

Move over, Jackass—it’s time for MTV’s other crazy reality stunt show Nitro Circus to shine. The feature film based on the show was released in 2012 and presents the Nitro Circus team taking on extreme challenges that take the meaning of "reckless" to a whole new level. One stunt includes making a school bus jump a huge gap whilst carrying seven people. A $7 million film that is not for the faint of heart.

'Bathtubs Over Broadway'

For any musical fan, this is the perfect documentary to sit back and relax to. The film follows David Letterman’s discovery of the wacky world of industrial musicals and reveals to us musicals we never knew existed. Ones about bathrooms, ones which involve giant hamburgers and ones with on-stage explosions. Bathtubs Over Broadway was a roaring success at festivals across the US, and won awards at the Tribeca and Vancouver International Film Festival.

'Dry Martina'

Martina was a famous singer in the 90s, but years have passed and she is no longer living the exciting life she used to know. When she is visited unexpectedly by a fan who has interesting news it sparks a fire in her that drives her to go on an adventure to Chile, where she rediscovers her sexuality—an Argentinian dramedy that will have you laughing out loud.

'Katie'

This documentary studies Irish female boxer, Katie Taylor’s turbulent relationship with her career and the steps she takes to get back into the boxing ring after a year of dealing with troubles in her personal life. This film is not just for sport lovers. The Irish film distributor Wildcard Distribution has said that the documentary “will resonate greatly with audiences at home and worldwide.”

'Shéhérazade'

This French arthouse film tells the story of 17-year-old Zachary, a teenager from Marseille who has served time in juvenile detention and has just finished his sentence. He falls back into the wrong crowd and gets himself into trouble again when he meets Shéhérazade, a young prostitute who he begins to fall in love with. If you enjoy gritty thrillers, this is definitely one to consider.

'Wine Country'

This Netflix original comedy is produced and directed by none other than the hilarious Amy Poehler and tells the story of six female friends who go on a California road trip to celebrate a 50th birthday. As they travel across Napa Valley together, they rediscover their youth and discover more about each other whilst drinking copious amounts of wine. This fun, adventurous flick also stars Maya Rudolph, Tina Fey and Jason Schwartzman.

'The Wife'

Glenn Close stars in this Golden-Globe winning drama about an author who has won the Nobel Prize in Literature and has his wife travel with him to Stockholm to receive it. Whilst they are in Stockholm, the author's wife (Close) begins to question her relationship with her husband and whether she has contributed to most of her husband's success without being acknowledged for it. Film critic, Mark Kermode commented on Glenn Close's performance and said "this tragicomic drama is lifted shoulder high by the six-time Oscar nominee in one of her most deliciously complex roles."

'The Eagle'

Like Ironclad mentioned in the previous article, The Eagle is also a historic war film which was produced on a budget of $25 million. The difference is, The Eagle is set even further back in the past, in the year 140 AD. Young Roman Marcus Aquila has just arrived in Roman Britain to serve as garrison commander. He fights to honour the memory of his deceased father whilst searching for the golden emblem of his father's lost Roman legion. Channing Tatum stars in it.
