People may think that The Big Bang Theory is all laughs and giggles, but recent news has revealed that a lot of action happens when filming the much loved sitcom. Even if it's not in the script.

Joining the main stars at San Diego Comic Con over the weekend, #KaleyCuoco, who plays Penny, revealed that she once needed urgent assistance on #TheBigBangTheory set, as a practical joke went wrong and turned bloody. Footage has emerged showing that Cuoco and her onscreen husband, Leonard (played by Johnny Galecki) took their big prank way too far, leaving Cuoco with a head injury after she fell off her chair and smacked her head on her way to the ground.

Speaking about the incident at #SDCC 2017, Cuoco said:

“We thought it would be really funny for the gag reel to take it really far. We did it. [When I got up] all I see is blood gushing out of my head... It was all over me! I had to get stitches that day and come shoot the next day. I got back and there were signs that said, ‘No fun allowed on the Big Bang set.’”

It Also Gets Emotional On Set

Putting the unexpected hospital trip behind her, Cuoco went on to explain how emotional it was to film season 10 of The Big Bang Theory. Viewers were left with a jaw-dropping cliffhanger, which saw Sheldon suddenly drop to one knee and propose to his girlfriend, Amy:

“I went up to get my camera to get this moment [on film]. I had to get this photograph on my Polaroid. Everyone and their mother was behind the camera for this one scene. I started crying. We were all crying. It was really cool. So many relationships have transformed (on the show) and to see that be the pinnacle of the season was so cool.”

However, the proposal may seem exciting, but it has been revealed that the writers for the show are "unsure" how they want Amy to respond to the heart stopping moment. Speaking to Radio Times, Mayim Bialik, who plays Amy, said this:

“I honestly don’t know what her response will be. And I could see her saying no or yes! It’s really up to our writers to come up with how this moment will play out, and they might not even know at this time which way they want to take it!”
