Thor: Ragnarok looks set to be one of the most exciting films in Phase Three. The title refers to the mythical 'end of the world' in Asgardian mythology, and has been at the heart of some of the best arcs Marvel Comics has published. What's more, the film will feature Thor teaming up with none other than Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner - and, of course, the Hulk himself. But now, Joblo is reporting a number of exclusives that give us some tantalising hints as to the direction Thor: Ragnarok could take...

1. Thor: Ragnarok Will Be a Mash-Up of the "Planet Hulk" Plot

He's never been angrier!

"Planet Hulk" was a tremendous arc that ran in 2006, in which Marvel's greatest minds - the so-called 'Illuminati' - decided that the Hulk was too dangerous to stay on Earth. They tricked him, launching him into space, intending to send him to an idyllic world where he could have his greatest desire - to be left alone. Unfortunately, it all went wrong. The spaceship was diverted, and the Hulk crash-landed on a warworld that taxed even his resilience and strength.

The arc is one of the most popular in Marvel Comics history, and has even been adapted into an animated story. However, Kevin Feige has always insisted it wouldn't be a bright idea to do a "Planet Hulk" film. Last year, he told IGN:

"I think what's cool about the Planet Hulk story is it's all Hulk. He's a gladiator, he's fighting all these creatures on another world. Yes, some of those creatures show up in [Guardians of the Galaxy], which makes people think, 'Oh, maybe it could exist.' And maybe it could exist, someday. I don't think that's the first place we would go though for the very reason that you stated, which is, if we were ever able to do a standalone Hulk movie, 60 percent of the fun would be seeing Mark Ruffalo leading a Marvel movie -- and that's what we would do if we ever went down that road."

Feel the love, Mark Ruffalo!

As part of "Planet Hulk", the Hulk goes head-to-head against the Silver Surfer in gladiatorial combat. When Marvel announced that Jeff Goldblum was joining the cast of Thor: Ragnarok as the Grandmaster - a villain who delights in pitting superheroes against one another - fans began to suspect that aspects of "Planet Hulk" would be absorbed into the film. According to Joblo, they're right, and we'll even see the Hulk take up the iconic armor he wore in the comics.

2. Thor's Quest to Reset the Universe

Can Thor save the Realm Eternal?

According to Joblo, Thor needs to find the ultimate weapon and reset the universe. His quest will likely see him initially fight, and then ally with, the Hulk; but as to what this weapon is? My guess is that it's the Time Gem, linking Thor: Ragnarok to the Infinity Gems plotline that's building up to Avengers: Infinity War. The Time Gem would literally allow him to 'reset' the universe, a very specific word.

3. Expect Some Dramatic Changes!

The MCU Valkyrie may be VERY different!

Fans will no doubt be surprised at some of Joblo's more random spoilers:

"And speaking of appearances, expect a major change in the look of The God of Thunder himself for this part of the film as he will be sporting a shaved head (but not completely bald) for at least a portion of the film. Also, expect a very different look for Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie, who is traditionally a blonde-haired warrior type in the comics. For Ragnarok she’ll be wearing war paint on her face, much like a Native American warrior, which should be an interesting take on this variation of the character."

So there we have it - three intriguing spoilers for Thor: Ragnarok, giving us a sense of the film's plot and direction. If "Planet Hulk" is indeed being absorbed into the MCU, the film is sure to be a hit!

The Hulk eventually returned...
