As James Mangold's Logan comes clawing onto our screens, the comic book universe is at fever pitch as #Fox prepares to show the MCU and DECEU exactly how to make a #superhero film. The third in the #Wolverine trilogy, #Logan brings #HughJackman back as the titular bub, while Dafne Keen premieres as Laura Kinney, a.k.a. X-23, the cloned daughter of Wolverine. The film looks to be a family road trip with Patrick Stewart's Charles Xavier along for the ride, closing the trilogy as a perfect swansong to the past 17 years of Jackman as Logan. Promising to be Jackman's final time popping out his claws, many are left speculating whether Mangold would do the unthinkable and kill off the gruff Canadian?

While the plot has been kept more of a secret than the Alkali Lake facility, new spoilers have emerged from the film in the most unlikely of places. Marco Beltrami's soundtrack to accompany the film is giving away more than a few spoilers to how the film progresses, the big battles, and that all-important ending.

Warning: Possible spoilers ahead for Logan.

So, now that you are suited up in your yellow and black lycra and have lit your cigar, let's have a look at the tracklist in full:

1. Main Titles

2. Laura

3. The Grim Reavers

4. Old Man Logan

5. Alternate Route to Mexico

6. That’s Not a Choo-Choo

7. X-24

9. Gabriella’s Video

10. To the Cemetery

11. Goodnight Moon

12. Farm Aid

13. Feral Tween

14. Driving to Mexico

15. You Can’t Break the Mould

16. Up to Eden

17. Beyond the Hills

18. Into the Woods

19. Forest Fight

20. Logan vs. X-24

21. Don’t Be What They Made You

22. Eternum – Laura’s Theme

23. Logan’s Limo

24. Loco Logan

25. Logan Drives

Starting with the simply titled "Laura," the film will presumably begin with a look at Laura Kinney as a normal child, rather than her clawed X-23 persona, or it could feature her creation into an adamantium adolescent. Watching the previous #XMen films, we know that creating any Weapon X is a rather painful procedure.

Track 10, "To The Cemetery," must see someone kick the bucket, and things ain't looking good for Patrick Stewart's Professor X. The trailers already show Logan looking forlorn alongside a shovel, and with Xavier looking a little worse for wear, here's guessing that Logan won't be the last X-Men film for just Jackman. The listing also hints that the big forest fight we have all been clamoring over will appear much later in the film than expected.

The ending promises a usual claws-out finale, with "Loco Logan" implying that we could once see Jackman replicate his berserker rage from X-Men: Age of Apocalypse. However, it is the final track, "Logan Drives," that gives hope of a happy(ish ending) for Wolverine. The title conjures images of Logan driving off into the distance, presumably alone to start his new life somewhere else, a'la Dexter. Of course, it could mean "Logan drives into a canyon" and goes full Thelma & Louise, but it looks like Jackman's character is heading off into the sunset for retirement.

However, easily the biggest talking point from the album is the inclusion of X-24, twice. It is the first time that anyone other than Kinney's X-23 had been mentioned for Logan, but it throws some interesting theories out there. In the comic books there have been allusions to an X-24, although there is no official #comicbook character out there under the moniker of X-24. The Weapon X program clearly didn't stop with Kinney, while the Innocence Lost comic saw Dr. Rice reveal incubation pods for #24–#50. We already know that Richard E. Grant's Rice is behind the creation of X-23, so is there someone else on his side as well? Who, or even what, X-24 will be remains to be seen, but with Boyd Holbrook's Donald Pierce being queued up as the film's Big Bad, could Mangold move away from Pierce's comic book storyline and have him weaponized by Rice? Sorry to bring it up, but we saw a similar thing happen in X-Men Origins: Wolverine when Ryan Reynolds's (first) Deadpool was turned into Weapon XI. Either that, or we could see an army of Kinney clones taking on X-23 and Logan, which to be honest, sounds a bit too Resident Evil for my liking.

With Beltrami's previous work including the Scream films, World War Z, and Snowpiercer, he certainly has the credentials to bring a sombre tone to proceedings to match Logan's noir aesthetic. As for the spoilers, the tracklist probably gives away more than it is supposed to, and we know that Holbrook has promised that there will be some "surprises" on the way. Weapon X-24 going up against Wolverine and Kinney would be one hell of a way to bow out of the franchise. Only time will tell, but with all the hype around Logan, and some calling it one of the greatest #superhero films of all time, we know we're in for a treat. While the album is expected to go live alongside the film's theatrical release, the physical album will probably be around toward the end of March, but is available for pre-order on Amazon.
