Love Is Blind: See Leslie Uggams Return As Blind Al In 'Deadpool 2'

You had better be sharpening your katanas, because David Leitch's Deadpool 2 is preparing to stick another R-rated middle finger up at the rest of Hollywood. Hoping to continue the success of the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time, it seems that bigger really is better with the sequel.

Newcomer #JoshBrolin is suiting up as the muscular Cable, while #RyanReynolds will once again be playing the foul-mouthed hero. However, nestling in among the leading lads, screen legend #LeslieUggams is also back as the wisecracking Blind Al. As the filming of #Deadpool2 continues in Vancouver, we can now get our first look at Uggams returning as Al.

Reynolds shared the snap of the pair together on his Facebook page, above the caption, “Spent another day with this beautiful lady. Lost in each other’s ears. # BlindAl”.

Despite all the expected action, it looks like at least some of Leitch's film will see Deadpool and Al curled up on her sofa in the house he used to stay in. We last saw the buxom retiree in the climactic battle between Wade Williams and Ajax, but it is great to see that Deadpool and Al have kept in touch.

With the original film becoming one of the surprise hits of 2016, Deadpool owes a lot of its success to the brilliant ensemble cast and the film's brand of off-humor. Being the closest thing to a mentor figure for Deadpool, Al inadvertently serves as the film's very own Charles Xavier (of sorts). Along with Karan Soni as Dopinder and T.J. Miller as Weasel, Uggams stole the show and is a welcome return for 2018's follow-up. We have already seen Reynolds back in his outfit, but there is still no sign of Brolin's full Cable wardrobe.
