MadTV recently returned to television with a new installment on The CW network. The series has been off the air for over 10 years, but looks to be taking off successfully with the new season's premiere. New cast have been recruited for the series, along with veteran cast members set to guest star on separate episodes, evidently providing a callback to the funnier skits produced on MadTV. More on the series' adaptation later. For now, we can take a look at some of the hilarious skits to already air on MadTV this past week.

GOT parody on MadTV.

The newest installment of MadTV has treated us to another iteration of MadTV's iconic parodies. The newest parody from the minds at MadTV takes a jab at the ever-so-popular Game Of Thrones, accounting for the convoluted nature of the story and the useless names that fans of GoT seem to keep track of.

Before going on with any more details, the clip is embedded below for you to check out for yourself. Take a gander and if you like what you see, check out next week's episode on The CW.

Sorry folks, The CW Network has since removed the clip. Enjoy this clip from a classic episode of Best Of MadTV.

History of MadTV

Not a lot of interest has sparked from the soft premiere of MadTV on The CW, but it appears that the newest installment is aiming to please viewer expectation just as the original series projected a tone of comedic rapport with the audience. It may take a while for the MadTV revival to catch on with more viewers, but it wouldn't be the first time MadTV was criticized for being disassociated from the intended demographic's mindset.

The original concept for MadTV was glanced over by many and laughed at in some circles, but eventually the series took off to a tremendous rise in ratings and reviews which proved all non-believers wrong. As well as various cast members of MadTV going on to star in and produce other projects within the entertainment industry. Most notable examples coming from Keegan Michael Key and Jordan Peele.

Key and Peele

Recently debuting their film, Keanu, Keegan Michael Key and Jordan Peele have become the types of successes that can come out of down-trodden ventures like MadTV. After spending four seasons directing and starring in their Comedy Central series, Key & Peele, the comedy duo received an opportunity to direct and star in their own buddy comedy adventure which turned in to Keanu. Watch the trailer for the hilarious feline fiasco below:

Key and Peele aren't the only success stories to come from being cast on MadTV. One of the original cast members, Alex Borstein may be more well known than most think. Borstein is well known for voicing the character of Lois Griffin on Family Guy. Being a central talent on one of the most popular television programs on the planet gives Borstein more than enough credit to address her as another success story to rise out of MadTV. But more on the successes of MadTV later.

MadTV airs Tuesdays at 9:00pm on The CW network. Episode 1 premiered on July 26, 2016. For more MadTV, check out CWSeed for an archive of original episodes. Episode 2 will feature veteran cast members, Ike Barinholtz and Bobby Lee.
