James McAvoy's breathtaking performance in Filth
“Top Hollywood Illustrator, Ciara McAvoy, wins prestigious Creative Design Award for "Filth, " written and directed by Jon S. Baird (Cass) and based on the Irvine Welsh (Trainspotting) novel of the same name, Filth stars James McAvoy, who himself won Best Actor at the 2013 British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) and Jameson Empire Awards in 2014. ”
“Just over a month after Steel Mill Pictures and Magnolia Pictures released the award-winning film Filth on DVD and Blu-ray in the U.S., Ciara McAvoy’s traditionally illustrated Filth movie poster was awarded Outstanding Creative Design—over thousands of global entries—at the 44th Annual Creativity International Print & Packaging Design Awards. -prweb.com”

First of all, if you haven't seen Filth yet, go buy a DVD or download it on iTunes! I personally haven't read the book yet, but if the movie is this amazing then the book is probably a perfect definition of awesome in a whole new level.

I will not reveal any spoilers if you haven't read the book or watched the movie yet. All you have to know is that, James McAvoy's character, Bruce Robertson is entirely different from his role as Charles Xavier. (A bit similar to the DOFP one's previous actions.)

And everything came to me as a bomb, too. And this is could easily be one of your favorite young Professor X films of all time. (I mean, James McAvoy.)

Now here is one of the coolest part..

The promotional poster for Filth, isn't digitally made. It's hand-painted and a lot of effort and passion is dedicated to it.

artwork by Ciara McAvoy

I am out of words to describe how amazing her artwork is, so I will quote:

“McAvoy’s promotional poster for Filth, which captured the true essence of the film’s dark comedy, also captured the attention of the judges. Her win is an indication that the world of movie-campaign marketing still has a place for well-executed traditional illustration—a field often believed to be a dying art given the proliferation of photographic and digital imagery used in movie poster design in recent years. -prweb.com”

If you don't know who Ciara McAvoy is, she is a Scottish film poster artist, and her artworks especially in oil, is surreal.

The other best part is that both the McAvoys (contrary to popular belief, the two has no immediate familial relation) won for their incredible work in this movie.

Proud to announce that I've been selected as an award winner in the 44th Creativity international Print & Packaging Design Awards for FILTH— Ciara McAvoy (@CiaraMcAvoy1) September 23, 2014

Let's wait for Victor Frankestein's release on October 2, 2015! And he's going to be with Daniel Radcliffe in this movie! (Bonus!)

another magnificent work by Ciara McAvoy

In the meantime, watch Jamesy's brand new movie The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby : Them where he portrays Connor Ludlow, Eleanor Rigby's (Jessica Chastain) husband.

“The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby is broken into three films, Him, Her and Them. Him and Her were screened at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival as a "work in progress". Him and Her will be released on October 10, 2014 in select art house cinemas.”
