MCU News: Venom in 'Spider-Man 3'?

This could be very interesting.

With new rumours going around about the future of the MCU almost every week it can be hard to keep up with the latest news. But with this latest rumour coming out we can't help but not get excited about all the possibilities.

The new rumour is that we could be getting the introduction of Venom into the MCU finally in Spider-Man's third film. Apparently Sony desperately want Tom Hardy's Venom in the MCU, which is even better news for us fans. I don't know about you but I loved Tom Hardy as both Eddie Brock and Venom, it was a perfect cast choice. So when I first heard this rumour I was afraid that the role would be given to someone else since all the X-Men and Fantastic 4 are getting a recast, except for Deadpool who is still set to be played by Ryan Reynolds. There was actually a rumour before this about Spider-Man 3 introducing Deadpool into the MCU but this has since been debunked and replaced with Venom.

It was leaked by someone on Twitter who has been right about some of the things he's said in the past. He talked about some surprise returns in Endgame and even Thor's change of character, which was a huge shock to me and I would've never have guessed that would happen. So as much as this guy has a history of being right, as always take all rumours with a grain of salt. With that being said, here is what he had to say:

"There are no plans to add Deadpool in an MCU Spider-Man 3, but Sony desperately wants Tom Hardy's Venom in this movie. Deadpool had his own movies but never showed up in the main X-Men films, it will be the same for the MCU."

So it sounds like Deadpool won't be encountering any of the main heroes in the near future but with the success of his first two movies it's clear that he doesn't need the help of big characters to bring in the audience.

The last time we saw Venom face off against Spider-Man on the big screen was in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man 3 movie and we all know how that went. It is basically known worldwide as the worst Spider-Man movie, obviously there are fans who will defend it, like in every film franchise, but it was terrible. Emo Peter Parker was the nail in the coffin for me. But as well as that, Venom wasn't the best. He wasn't intimidating, he wasn't big and he wasn't a real threat. So if he was to crossover into the MCU as Tom Hardy's Venom at least we would be getting a more accurate representation of the character.

The first Venom movie was surprisingly very successful with a worldwide box office of $885 million and there is already a sequel in the works so if Sony are wanting Venom to appear in Spider-Man 3, I'm guessing the web slingers third movie is a while off. Sony originally wanted the Venom movie to take place in the MCU universe but Kevin Feige didn't want that to be the case. So who knows if Sony and Marvel will share the same universe. But for the fans sake I seriously hope they do.
