Whilst everyone gears up for next year's Prometheus prequel, Alien: Covenant, I am the one waiting for a big face-hug from Neill Blomkamp's long-mooted Alien 5. Sure, Covenant has teased the possibility of meeting meeting Ellen Ripley's mother, but with Sigourney Weaver on board for Alien 5, who can beat the woman herself?

Well, it looks like someone else is officially joining Ripley back into the alien hive. Speaking at a 30th anniversary reunion at Comic-Con, Aliens legend Michael Biehn shed some new light on whether Alien 5 would ever get off the starting blocks. Whilst rumours of Biehn's return were limited to concept art and fanboy dreams, a new interview with Forbes suggests it is full steam ahead for Corporal Hicks's return:

Sigourney says they are still doing their project. I think it would be very embarrassing to Fox if they don’t give Sigourney the movie that she really wants to go out on. I don’t know when it’s going to happen but I know it’s going to happen.

A 'Newt' Addition

Biehn's Corporal Hicks may have been one of the few survivors of 1986's Aliens, but fate dealt the actor a wicked blow when it came to David Fincher's Alien3. Biehn's character, along with child survivor 'Newt' were killed off in the first act - although the film used Biehn's likeness for a corpse, and he was paid nearly his Aliens salary through legal disputes *ha* Karma!

We know that Newt actress Carrie Henn won't be returning after she chose teaching over acting, but Biehn also offered some rather interesting information on that too. Dropping one hell of a spoiler, or one hell of a f**k you to Xenomorph fans everywhere, when discussing who would be recast as Newt, Biehn told Forbes:

I know I’m going to be in it and there’s going to be a new Newt, she’s going to be about 26 or 27 and looks a lot like Jennifer Lawrence to me but I don’t know.

A Jennifer Lawrence lookalike? Well here are a few options:

Ellen Page

J-Law Herself

Could Katniss Everdeen really be swapping her bow and arrow for a flamethrower? We doubt it, but we can but dream! Blomkamp's Alien 5 was pushed back due to conflicts with Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant. It is believed that Alien 5 will go into production once Covenant has finished, but with Scott proposing a trilogy, who knows when Ellen Ripley will hop back into her stompers.
