Movies I Love from a Hacker Point of View

Hackers is a great iconic movie in the hacker world. This being said, most of the time, it is making fun of what people thought hacking was back then. However, if you have not seen this movie, it is a most see; and not only because you get to see Angelina Jolie's nipple, but because it is a great movie.

This is a movie about Julian Assange as a young person when he was, W.A.N.K. or, Worms Against Nuclear Killers. This movie gives a rosy look at Mr. Assange's path into fighting for the greater good. I love this movie because it shows how a dictionary attacks works.

This is a newer movie; however, it is a good one. It touches on hacking IOT (Internet of things) devises, and talks about how you need to know more than just how to break into servers.

The computer stuff is bad; however, it talks about one of my favorite things, that no matter how hard you build something, someone can break it. When I was in the army, they had a saying, "Once you make something dummy proof, the world makes a better dummy." This being said, the inverse to this must also be true. Once you make a harder lock, you make a better locker picker.

There are many different reasons to watch this movie. One, it's a Die Hard movie and they are great movies—well, other than the last two. This movie, Fight Club, and Mr. Robot all talk about the idea of a fire sale. If you do not know what a fire sale is, you should look it up. At this point, it is a running joke; however, it is the doomsday issue in the hacking world.

The Skulls is one of the first one movies I've seen that talked about secret societies. With this being said, it took me down a deep, dark hole that I would not suggest anyone to go down. However, this is something I plan to write about at some point, so subscribe to me and when it comes out, you can read what I found.

This is one of the best white collar crime movies out. The movie is one of the best examples of social engineering out there. I love the scene that they bribe people with a necklace; it shows what charm, a little money, and a smile can do for you. This also talks about stealing money from a banks by counterfeiting checks.
