With Netflix having such an extensive catalogue of options, sometimes it can be hard just making a decision on what to watch!

Hopefully I can assist with this. I have listed my top 9 shows to watch on the platform covering a range of different genres! Let me know what you think of them!

Suits

Netflix is now the primary broadcaster for Suits in the U.K. after taking over from Dave. In the world of American corporate law, there is always drama to be had in this fast paced legal thriller. The show follows main characters Harvey, Mike, Jessica, and Rachel through ordeal after ordeal, gripping you at every turn. The show twists and turns with some very bold story lines, keeping you on the edge of your seat for the next episode. As most of us are not lawyers, you may think that you won’t be able to keep up with a lot of what is going on, however, the show does a fantastic job of explaining the legal aspects of what is happening and finds ways to ensure that you understand even the most complex situations.

The show has recently received a huge PR boost from main character Meghan Markle’s (Rachel) engagement to prince Harry.

The show is currently in its 7th season with the second half of season 7 expected in the U.K. shortly after its March release for American viewers. All 7 seasons are available to watch on the platform and, with this show being perfect to binge watch, I would highly recommend being caught up before the second part of season 7 is here!

Because I have been a huge fan of Suits since the beginning and because it has never failed to keep me hooked, I have to give this a deserved 9/10.

Shooter (Original)

Series 1 of shooter kicks off with Bob Lee Swagger being falsely accused of a political assassination, the likes of which it seems he is the only person capable of pulling off.

As we progress through the series, we follow Bob Lee as he avoids federal law enforcement to allow him enough time to clear his name.

As a highly trained, highly skilled and deadly operator, a new set of challenges present themselves in each episode. Can he clear his name? Watch and find out! 7/10

'Designated Survivor' (Original)

Designated Survivor follows the journey of Tom Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland) after a catastrophic explosion during the state of the union address. The “designated survivor” is chosen to stay away from the event should such an incident occur, they can then take over and run the country as president of the United States.

Kirkman is thrown in to the role of president with extraordinary pace, coming from a low ranking role as housing and urban development secretary.

The show follows the new president through his first 100 days initially and documents how he deals with situations as they arise and what he does in situations where he has no experience or knowledge.

Currently in its second season, it has gripped viewers and with the second part of season two expected in March, I would urge you to get up to date! 8/10.

'Power' (Original)

Netflix original Power tells the story of main characters Ghost (Omari Hardwick) & Tommy (Joseph Sikora) as they build their illicit empire in New York’s cocaine underworld while trying to give the impression of legitimate business men. The pair run in to trouble with rival gangs, old friends, cartel bosses, and the justice system but still manage to remain resilient.

The show also features co-stars 50 Cent (Kanan), Naturi Naughton (Tasha), and Lela Loren (Angela). You are able to watch all of the current 4 seasons in their entirety on Netflix and with season 5’s production currently underway, however a release date is yet to be confirmed due to an ongoing dispute with the shows channel, Starz, being dropped by its provider. Previous seasons have been released around July so fingers crossed that everything stays on track!

Because of the gripping nature of the show and due to it leaving you wanting more after every episode, this show can only be rated at 9/10.

'Dirty Money' (Original)

Dirty money is a Netflix original documentary series looking at a range of topics from the VW emissions scandal to international money laundering by drug cartels.

The series is made up of 5 separate documentaries, each focusing on a different issue. The films take an in depth look at how bosses of VW tried repeatedly to shift blame away from themselves in a futile effort to cover up their wrongdoing, how cartels and individuals subject to government sanctions laundered their money through international bank HSBC as well as how they attempted to cover this up, how Scott Tucker lead a lavish lifestyle while his company subjected customers to predatory lending practices, how maple syrup is controlled in Canada, as well as looking in to drug company Valeant and Donald Trump's empire.

Overall, for documentary lovers, this is a worthwhile watch! It covers such a broad range of topics and because each episode is created by a different director, no two are the same. 8/10.

'Brooklyn Nine Nine'

A show where childish detective Jake Peralta ensures that viewers are entertained with pranks, competition, one liners and catchphrases, all while being a cop at the 99th precinct in Brooklyn New York.

We see Jake solving cases with his team while maintaining a comedic flair throughout, ensuring that you are entertained and laughing every couple of minutes.

The show also features underlying stories such as Jake being in love with his colleague Amy, Captain Raymond holts battle with upper management and of course, the annual Halloween heists.

As each episode is in the region of 20 minutes, it is a perfect binge watch and is guaranteed to have you laughing throughout. 8/10.

'White Collar'

A suave, charming and good looking conman is caught after a long and tireless pursuit by the FBI. Because of his skill set and contacts in the underworld of white collar crime, conman Neil teams up with agent Peter Burke to solve cases and catch bad guys.

The story follows Neil and Peter’s adventures as they catch criminals and find themselves in difficult situations. The pair are the complete opposite of one another but maybe that’s exactly why they work!

The show has now concluded however all six seasons of the show are currently available to watch. This really is one of those shows that makes you want to watch the next instalment as soon as possible. It comes up with new story lines and twists throughout keeping you glued to the screen. 8/10

'Limitless'

If you could take a drug to unleash your minds full potential, would you take it?

Based on the 2011 film of the same name, Limitless is a show about fictional drug named NZT. NZT allows you to unlock all of your brain's ability, a kind of overdrive. Brian Finch (Jake Mcdorman) goes on a journey with NZT and teams up with the FBI to work on complex cases that they can not solve alone. It may sound a little dry, but there is comedy throughout keeping you entertained in every episode.

The show was dropped after the first season by CBS however there are rumours of the show returning for a second season. Producer and star Bradley Cooper is reportedly leading negotiations to see if a platform such as Netflix or Amazon will pick up production. We can only hope that they will! 8/10.

'The League'

Fantasy football is a huge deal in America (yes, I mean American football). Many hours each week are spent setting line ups and plotting ways to maximise points. The league follows a group of adult friends and their league. Each season starts with a draft, gradually becoming more elaborate and ridiculous each year as the friends compete to out do each other.

Naturally, each week there is bragging, pranks, banter as well as every day life. With each character having a very different personality, they all bring their own quirks to the group and when put together, the results are hilariously funny.

All 7 seasons are available to watch but unfortunately once you have made it all the way through, there will be no more. The show has now concluded but that does not mean that you shouldn’t watch each and every episode that is available! 9/10.
