My Top Ten Favourite Shows on Netflix

Plus My Boyfriend's Top Ten

This is a list of my personal favourite ten T.V. shows that you can find on Netflix. Only a couple of the suggestions throughout the whole article are Netflix original. Although, I do have to admit that Netflix originals are getting pretty damn good, especially Altered Carbon. Since a couple of the suggestions are a little girly, I also included my boyfriend’s recommendations on the bottom.

My Top Ten:

1. 'Bob’s Burgers'

Seven seasons are on Netflix, which is all of the seasons except for the most recent one. I love Bob’s Burgers because it gives me a sense of familiarity and safety; it also felt like a source of non-stop entertainment until I got to about season 6.

The best thing about Bob’s Burgers is that it kept being amazing throughout every season; if anything it only got better over time. While other shows on this list decrease in quality over time, Bob’s Burgers stands strong throughout out all of its seasons so far. Bob’s Burgers truly is a show that deserves number one on this list, because it is simply just amazingly awkward!

2. 'The Last Man on Earth'

I wasn’t a big fan of this show at first, but over time I really started to get into it. My parents were watching it and I saw bits and pieces at first, it just really didn’t really seem that great. I don’t remember how my boyfriend and I started watching it but we haven’t stopped since and now we are waiting for the next season.

If you do start watching The Last Man on Earth, just be warned that it decreases and increases in quality throughout its seasons, so don’t be afraid to skip a couple of sucky episodes and don’t give it just after one bad episode.

3. 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine'

This is a comedy that will always be funny and is even re-watch worthy. I love the characters to pieces and strongly hope that I could have a place like this to work one day... even though I know that is super unrealistic and would probably get fired if I acted like them at work

Unfortunately, it doesn’t stay strong throughout all of its seasons as the same humour gets old and the stories seem to get repetitive. The good news it doesn’t decrease in quality by much, so I felt it really deserves number three on this list.

4. 'Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency'

You will not understand what is going on at first, and that is OK. This show has a weird quirky humour that only some people like; I guess I am just one of those people. It does, however, have great moments that I find to be really captivating.

The second season gets weird at times, but I still watched it so I hope that means it’s decent and I didn’t just get desperate to watch something.

6. 'The Office'

This is an old show and you have probably already watched it, but if you haven’t seen it already, you should give it a try. Just remember this TV isn’t awesome, it’s just weirdly decent.

This show keeps roughly the same quality thorough its many seasons, but let's be honest. It's not hard to keep up decent.

7. 'I-Zombie'

I’ll be honest… it’s super feminine. I know a lot of people who don’t like this show but I could never keep my eyes off of it. I just loved how relatable the main character felt as she went through a really hard time that even separated her from her family because she just couldn’t tell them the truth.

Unfortunately, this show does decrease in quality over some time, but I did watch the whole thing so it’s not awful.

8. 'Van Helsing'

When I first watched this I thought it was amazing, but I watched it again later and found I could really see some flaws. That’s why I ended up putting close to the bottom of the list. I think the reason why I liked it so much is just because of the strong female lead.

I never finished the second season so that's a good sign that it really decreases in quality, but there is still that first season. My boyfriend even liked the first season too, so it passes some sort of masculine test.

9. 'A Series of Unfortunate Events'

I love this one because it is a dark comedy aimed towards teens/young adults; all my childhood was fluffed with happiness and bright colours just to become a teenager and have all that innocence taken away from you. If you are going through a hard time in life, this show is for you. However, what is really unfortunate about this show is the obvious lack in budget… however, I do think the increase in plot makes up for it.

This one is different from the rest because it gets better over time. As a fair warning, you have to get past the third episode before it starts getting any good.

10. 'Once Upon a Time'

Same as above, it takes a bit before this show gets good... so don’t judge it by the pilot. When I first tried it I hated it, but I eventually went back and now I am obsessed with it. So please, if you do like feminine TV shows, give this one a chance.

I honestly can’t remember how well this one hold throughout its many seasons, I just remember is getting better after season two. After that I think it holds a pretty steady pace of good enough.

My Boyfriend's Top Ten
