Disney fans can now rejoice, after months of leaked images, real images and a teaser that played at our childhood memory with a haunting melody, Disney has finally released it's first full length trailer for the highly anticipated live-action Beauty and the Beast.

Following in the footsteps of Maleficent, The Jungle Book, and Cinderella, we are returned to the magical world of "classic" Disney with Belle, the Beast, and the rest of their enchanted friends taking us on a journey through a "tale as old as time" to a place that we know so well but can see through new eyes.

Disney

The trailer opens with the Beast's castle in the background, playing the same haunting music as was played during the teaser trailer. We see Maurice looking at flowers, as in the original story where Belle asked him to bring him home a rose, before being confronted by a shadowy figure and dragged away. Belle appears and tries to get her father to leave with her

However, of course she is caught by the master of the castle, The Beast. With lines straight from the original animated film he asks her if she will take her father's place and she asks him to come into the light, which is when we are given our first clear image of what is to be our Beast.

Disney

Fierce, but with very human eyes, we are taken through a whirlwind of scenes that are familiar to us, as well as familiar faces, including Lumiere, Cogsworth and Mrs Potts.

Disney

With scenes straight from the original film, like the wolves attacking Belle, her finding the rose, Gaston rallying the towsnfolk on to the castle, and a ballroom scene to make any fangirl feel a bit of a heart flutter, the trailer seems as though it is transporting us back into classic Disney, bringing these characters we know and love to life.

Disney proves once again that Beauty and the Beast is truly a "tale as old as time", and fans have a lot to look forward to.
