In the past week, there have been several releases of promotional footage for "X-Men: Apocalypse". Most of the footage has come in the form of minor screenshots from the film; mostly content that has already been previewed in the trailers. However, today a new batch of images has just released via Comicbook.com. And these images give us a look at some new mutants whom have been speculated to be a part of X-Men: Apocalypse, but can now be confirmed as definite additions to the already, vast cast in the film. Here are the images, and a brief breakdown of the significance behind these images.

1. The first incarnation of Apocalypse's Four Horsemen

The original Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse have arrived. These four figures will play the first incarnation of the Four Horsemen created by En Sabah Nur/Apocalypse. Their headpieces are indicative of the Egyptian gods they represent, each a standing basis for one of the Four Horsemen. We cannot tell who will be in the role of these Four Horsemen, but it is absolutely assured that we'll see Apocalypse's first choice for his Horsemen in the beginning sequence of the film. More promotional footage for X-Men: Apocalypse indicates that a portion of the film will explore Apocalypse's origins, as well as delving into the past of mutants; with En Sabah Nur/Apocalypse being the first mutant. Could the image of these four figures be priests to En Sabah Nur before they are turned into Apocalypse's Four Horsemen? Anything is possible.

2. Could this ancient mutant be an incarnation of another widely known 'X-Men' villain? (bottom-left hand corner)

Mister Sinister (bottom left corner).

In another image, we get to see the arrival of the Four Horsemen from the aforementioned image, embed above. But the image of them isn't as clear as the aforementioned image. However, there is something of note with their arrival. Some type of radiant light is beaming around them as they arrive, it's possible that the Four Horsemen are the truly, celestial beings in X-Men: Apocalypse (2016), and it is they who grant En Sabah Nur the power to become Apocalypse', not vice-versa. But there's something even more important in this image. In the bottom, left hand corner of the image, there's an individual in a costume that is almost identical to a very, well known villain of the 'X-Men' universe.

From the elongated hair, braided down to the back, to the armored plating and skin color; the image of this unidentified individual is likely to be Mister Sinister. Another image has surfaced recently, giving a frontal view of this figure, and with that image, it gives credibility to the theory of Mister Sinister's potential role in X-Men: Apocalypse (2016). The depiction of the character is almost identical to the comic-book incarnation of Mister Sinister. However, we can't confirm the addition of Mister Sinister until the film premieres, but we can speculate as to what connection he'll have with the Summers family; if Mister Sinister is in fact a new mutant of X-Men: Apocalypse (2016).

Seeing is that his creation, Nate Grey is alive and well at the Xavier Institute during the events of X-Men: Apocalypse. There's likely to be a connection between Mister Sinister and the current, Nate Grey. But moreover, the inclusion of Mister Sinister in the film could have huge ramifications in the years to come, he may even come to play the main antagonist in the next chapter of the mainstream 'X-Men' universe. Within the 'X-Men universe, Mister Sinister uses the genetic material gathered from Scott Summers and Jean Grey to create Nate Grey. And Nate Grey's cameo in X-Men: Apocalypse could have been purportedly placed to tease Mister Sinister as the main antagonist in the next chapter of the mainstream 'X-Men' franchise.

Mister Sinister (Right-center).

3. Angel defeats Blob in a deathmatch.

Angel, otherwise known as Warren Worthington III can be seen defeating the Blob in a cage match. It appears as though Angel is fighting in an underground fighting league, probably set up specifically for mutants. Could this be the underground group of Morlocks, whom have been rumored to be introduced in X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)? The mutant group of the Morlocks was an underground society of mutants, whom chose to hide away from the world, rather than tolerate being subjugated to discrimination and hatred. From the image of Angel standing over Blob, this could take place in an underground fight arena, specifically for mutants, or this may be the staging ground for the mutant group, of Morlocks. An underground fight arena where mutants are welcome, it exudes the signature of the underground group of outcasts like the Morlocks. Though it's probable that there'll be multiple mutant factions within the film, there is the prospect of X-Men: New Mutants which'll open the franchise to a whole sub-genre of mutants from the 'X-Men' universe. Making the Morlocks even more likely to be introduced in X-Men: Apocalypse.

4. Jubilee and some students attend one of Professor Xavier's lectures.

This image from X-Men: Apocalypse appears to have Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) fully immersed in the role of Professor Xavier when we get to see him in the film, as he's sitting comfortably in his wheelchair, in the middle of a lesson with some of his students. There's also the inclusion of Jubilee (Lana Condor) in the image, as well as a few other unidentified students of the Xavier Institute. Lana Condor's character of Jubilee has been a subject of interest since her character was announced in the film. The reason being is that Jubilee's abilities would be altered during the film. She appears to be young but we may get to see her performing some incredible fireworks when General, William Stryker rides down on to the Xavier Institute.

5. Beast/Hank McCoy could be a casualty in the film.

Looks like Beast/Hank McCoy may not make it out of Apocalypse alive. From what we've been shown in the promotional footage for "X-Men: Apocalypse", Beast will be facing down Psylocke when the 'X-Men' confront Apocalypse and his Four Horsemen. This images appears to show Beast looking on at a radiant glow, approaching him. It's likely that the radiant glow is of Psylocke's telekinetic blade, which means she could be walking towards Beast/Hank to end his life. We may see Hank McCoy/Beast die before the end of the film. There are likely to be some casualties, it's possible that Hank McCoy/Beast may be one of them. He's a very strong mutant with a high-level intelligence, but Psylocke will probably being using ferocious nature without any reserve; killing Hank McCoy/Beast the first opportunity she gets.

6. Is Jean Grey leading up to her Phoenix arc' in a future film?

How far will Jean Grey go when she utilizes Cerebro? This image of Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) standing within the threshold of Cerebro implies that she'll be the one to locate Charles Xavier when Apocalypse takes him from the 'Xavier Institute'. We know that Charles isn't with the 'X-Men' when they decide to face Apocalypse, which would call for the only other telepath on the 'X-Men' to use Cerebro, for the purpose of locating Charles Xavier and the other mutants. But as to how deep the connection will be between Cerebro and Jean Grey is yet to be seen. If the machine puts too much stress on her mind, Cerebro may unintentionally unlock Jean's hidden potential, transforming her into the malevolent Phoenix. Though, that character arc is better left for another film. It would be interesting to get a tease of Jean Grey's power of the Phoenix during X-Men: Apocalypse (2016).

7. Josh Helman as William Stryker as he's back to work in the Alkali Lake facility.

The new image of Josh Helman in X-Men: Apocalypse gives us a first look at the Alkali Lake facility. In Marvel Comics, Alkali Lake is the site where the Weapon-X programs take place; the same experimental program that bonded adamantium to Wolverine's body. And we've just seen a tease of Wolverine in the recently, released trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse. Making his presence known within the same facility that Josh Helman's character of William Stryker is standing, in the image embed above. Could this new image of William Stryker (Josh Helman) prove the theory of Wolverine's role in the film being to correct the mistakes of X-Men Origins: Wolverine by retelling the origin story of Logan/Wolverine?

Is that Hugh Jackman in the back?

Wolverine in Alkali facility.

Do any of the settings in these scenes look familiar? Because they all take place in the Alkali Lake facility. The same builiding that William Strker (Josh Helman) has been spotted in, and the same image of the 'X-Men' within the Alkali Lake facility; possibly with Logan/Wolverine in tow of the 'X-men'. Wolverine is set to make his jump back into the mainstream 'X-Men' universe in X-Men: Apocalypse, and he's going to make a splash. But which actor will be portraying the adamantium clawed, mutant is up to debate. Hugh Jackman's intent for Wolverine 3 to be his last appearance as Logan/Wolverine likely affirms the idea of Hugh Jackman not portraying Wolverine in X-Men: Apocalypse. It's more plausible that a new actor has been cast in the role of Logan/Wolverine; nothing has been confirmed to add Hugh Jackman to the cast. X-Men: Apocalypse is the newest entry in the 'X-Men' franchise, being used as an introduction to many more known mutants of the Marvel universe. There's room for this franchise-defining film to also make the statement by defining itself as an original creation within the 'X-Men' universe, not having to depend on the success or failure of past films in the franchise. To do so, there'll be a necessity for a new actor to portray the character of Wolverine at some point. Probably in X-Men: Apocalypse.
