2018 is turning out to be an extremely busy year for Nicolas Cage. Several of his films are being auctioned off to the highest bidder at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. The festival runs May 8-19. And our hero, Nic Cage, is expected to be there!

Nic is scheduled to star in a new film entitled, Kill Chain, according to the source, The Hollywood Reporter. The film will be written and directed by Ken Sanzel, the producer of Numb3rs and writer of The Replacement Killers. It follows three strangers' lives as they inevitably become entangled in a conflict none of them are prepared for. Paul Hertzberg produces the movie.

The surprise, biggest seller at Cannes is his creepy cult horror film, Mandy, which will premiere at Cannes at the Directors’ Fortnight on May 12. Filmed on-location in Belgium, the movie is directed by Panos Cosmatos—the same director of the 2010 cult classic Beyond The Black Rainbow. It received mixed and rave reviews so far among critics and audiences at Sundance Film Festival this past January. One critic from ScreenDaily saw it and reviewed it recently. Mandy is set in the primal wilderness in 1983. It follows lumberjack Red Miller—a torn and broken man who avenges a religious cult leader for killing his lover, Mandy Bloom. Mandy is scheduled to be released in the United States this summer in theaters. The film also stars British actor, Linus Roache, as the religious cult leader who murders Mandy and British actress, Andrea Riseborough, as Mandy. There is no trailer for the film on YouTube yet and no word if the film will be available On-Demand.

Nic's newest films are up for grabs.

Nic’s other films that are up for international sale and distribution are Voltage PicturesBetween Worlds and Millenium Films'211. The bank- heist action cop film, 211, directed by York Alec Shackleton, is being released in the United States in June. In the movie, Cage plays a good cop who tries to thwart a bank heist. It's based on a true story of the biggest and bloodiest bank robbery in history. Last year, the 211 production schedule was delayed because Nic was in an accident and broke his ankle on the film set and was taken to the hospital in Bulgaria where the production was being filmed. He's since fully recovered. The film's trailer has been released on YouTube. There's no set release date for Mandy or Between Worlds. His two other films, Running With The Devil and ‘Primal’ are in post-production.

Between Worlds, directed by Maria Pulera, is about a lonely man named Joe, a down-on-his-luck truck driver who is distraught and broken over the death of his wife. He eventually meets a spiritual woman named Julie, who enlists Joe in a desperate effort to find the lost soul of her comatose daughter, Billie. The spirit of Joe’s wife possesses the woman’s body determined to settle her unfinished business with the living. The film was shot in Mobile, Alabama last year and Nic was handed the Key to the City by Mayor Sandy Stimpson. Nic is known for his work in spiritual and science fiction films.

Nic Cage has zero plans for retirement.

Back in April, Cage announced that he will officially retire from acting in three or four years to focus more on his directing ambitions at a press conference in Puerto Rico; while filming Primal. Then he told a reporter in an interview while filming there that he has absolutely zero plans for retirement from acting. Perhaps he changed his mind? Well, he's still cranking out films, some good, some not. He's still active in the film market and film festival circuit so we'll just hang in there and see what develops.
