It had been hard for all of them. Almost everyone lost a loved one. A half of them that they felt made them a better person. The half of them that made them stronger. Their soulmates. Some lost even more.

Nobody seemed to be taking it harder than Thor. The god tried to hide it, but every so often he'd show a flash of weakness. A moment of vulnerability. He missed his brother...he missed Loki.

Steve had never been all too close to Thor. They'd been friends, sure, but they never really talked to each other. Not before now.

Losing Bucky again killed Steve in more ways than he'd ever imagined. It felt like Steve couldn't ever seem to keep Bucky safe. Things had been looking up for them! They were having Skype calls every week and getting to see each other every chance they could. It was finally love. Steve had felt it...he knew Bucky had too.

Since the incident Thor and Steve had shared a room. One half of the room belonged to Steve and the other half to Thor. They were the only two strong enough to hold the other down when they woke up screaming.

Steve lay in bed drawing while Thor seemed to just stare at the ceiling. "Banner looked at another snake today." Thor said lightly.

Steve smiled but didnt look away from his sketch pad. "Oh really? Any traces that Loki could've been there?"

Thor shook his head. "Is there ever?" He whispered. Tears threatened to spill from Thors eyes. Little sparks flew from his fingers.

Steve looked over at Thor and sighed. "Hey...You can't give up hope now. We'll find them. You cant give up hope now Thor." He spoke softly but still managed to seem stern. That's how their relationship was. As friends they kept each other positive.

"I know we'll find them." Thor snapped back, not looking at Steve yet. "I...I just miss him so much. I see him all the time...in my head. It only hurts me more when I open my eyes and find it's all a dream."

Steve looked back to his sketch book and sighed. On it was a sketch of Bucky. With his one arm...soft smile, and beautiful thick flowing hair. It's all Steve could ever draw anymore. It kept him positive. On occasion Steve would draw Peter. He didnt know the teen well...or even what became of him. All Steve knew was he saw a lot of himself in Peter Parker. The kid was tough and never seemed to back down from a fight. Steve knew Bucky would've wanted Steve to defend Peter.

"Last night I saw in a vision. He told me to keep fighting. Even though I have no home...no family. He told me Asgard still lives inside of me." Thor said, letting his tears spill. "I should've protected him." He whispered.

"Now dont you go blaming yourself Thor. We've been over this." Steve said quickly, flipping to a fresh page in his sketch pad. "Did you trust in your brother?" He asked. Steve remembered the questions Peggy asked him all those years ago. They'd helped. Even if he didnt realize it then.

Thor nodded. "Of course I did. Loki made some very real and public mistakes...but I always knew he was much more than just the God of mischief." He closed his eyes and saw a flash of Loki. He heard his sweet little laugh. "Now I'd kill for one of the snakes I find to stab me. I'd do anything to ensure it." Thor whispered as tears rolled from his eyes.

"And did you respect him?" Steve asked, watching Thor closely before turning back to his sketch pad. He found himself sketching Thor. Why this moment felt important he didnt know. It just felt like something he needed to remember.

Thor laughed. "Hell no." He joked. "We were brothers kinda. I dont really know what Loki and I were. Sometimes we loved each other and sometimes we couldn't be in the same room without fighting." Thor explained. "I guess at the end of the day I did respect him."

"Then there's nothing more you could've done." Steve said as he sketched the detail in Thors hair. "We will find them. I have no doubt about it." He tried to sound as assuring as possible.

Thor sighed. "What do you have your doubts about Captain Rogers?" He questioned. Steve always seemed to be so calm. Even when waking up from nightmares he seemed to collect himself so quickly. Thor didn't understand.

"We won't talk about that." Steve said sternly, turning off the little lamp beside his bed. "Goodnight Thor. Try to get some sleep. It'll do the both of us good to get some rest."

Everyday Thor fought he saw less and less of Loki. Soon he even stopped bringing animals for Banner to inspect. Thor and Steve's late night conversations never consisted of past lovers. Not of Loki or Bucky.

If only thor knew what was to come. The horrors that would haunt him as Steve was taken from him too. Thor would never forgive Tony for that. Not now or ever.

Even as Peter, Strange, Bucky....everyone came home Loki didnt. Thor had cried himself to sleep. The storms on Midgard never ended. This was awful. Thor could feel his legacy coming to an end.

Years earlier he had imagined he would save the world. Have children and a beautiful bride at his side. Thor imagined he and Loki would have the beautiful family they always dreamed of.

Now Thor was forced to face the reality of the end of his legacy. He would die alone. No family...no friends to mourn him as he left. See without Thor dreaming of him Loki's spirit had no home. It had no purpose. So he was gone. Truly gone forever.

Thor screamed. He screamed and cursed. Steve would've gotten his Bucky back. Tony got Strange and Peter. The talking Rabbit got his tree friend, Groot. Thor got nothing but a half assed lie.

"There was never going to be a sun brother!" Thor screamed out. "You lied to me! Asgard no longer lives. My home, my family, my friend. Everything was taken from me!" Thor screamed out the open window. In his hand was a knife. The only thing he had left of his brother. "I never thought that I...Thor Odinson of Asgard...God of Thunder and fertility....would die to my own hand. Personally I imagined dying a martyr. For Asgard..right brother?" He sobbed. "But I cant go on like this anymore. It's time. I'll see you on the other side." Thor slammed the blade into his chest then neck. Anywhere he could to assure his death.

Bucky had been the one to find thor. It had killed him because he knew how heartbroken Steve wouldve been. Bucky told himself it would all be alright. Perhaps maybe the sum had shone on Thor....on Steve as well. Maybe they were sat on a cloud somewhere thinking....

Thinking...

"Maybe this isn't so bad for the end of the world."
