While King Arthur has yet to appear on the show, his presence and legend have been felt in the past, with the appearance of Lancelot (Sinqua Walls who will be reprising his role), the mention of the need for Merlin, and the sword in the stone.

While very little is still known about the newest season of Once Upon a Time we officially have the announcement of our King Arthur with British actor, Liam Garrigan, stepping into the role, appearing in the premiere and then having a recurring role throughout the Camelot arc.

Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis had this to say about the story arc.

As we do on 'Once Upon a Time', we're doing our own twist on Camelot, on Arthur's background and on his relationships with Merlin, Guinevere and Lancelot.

While I have loved their changes in the past, I am a little nervous about them changing Arthurian legend as it is one of my favorite stories. Though they have done justice to many stories in the past, the veering of others has made me pause a few times.

I am looking forward to the journey through Camelot, however, and seeing how it ties into the Dark Swan storyline, as seems inevitable with the need to search for Merlin mentioned in the last season finale.

Here's to another adventure and journey through a new fantasy land.

Once Upon a time Season 5 begins September 27, 2015 to ABC.
