The Seinfeld and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fandoms might overlap in a big way, but we never guessed they would intersect thanks to one performance that draws the two shows directly together. But here we are, with the Turtles playing out a Seinfeld scene about a very specific version of self-control.

The original voice actors from the animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series came together again on Nerdist's latest episode of Talkin' Toons. The cast recreated a Seinfeld episode, 'The Contest,' using the show's original script, but voiced as their former Turtle personalities.

That's a pretty weird mesh between the two properties. There was no reason to ever picture Jerry, Elaine, George, and Kramer in the TMNT universe before this recording, but now we could almost see it happening.

Compare that to the original scene:

The TMNT recreation of "The Contest" gets up to the same point in the dialogue when the scene is closed out by the cast. They could have easily recreated the entire episode, and had fans entertained the whole time, but didn't. There just isn't enough time to explore all the possibilities.

Someone really needs to cut the audio from the TMNT cast into the Seinfeld video, maybe with some Turtle heads pasted over the actors, just to push the strange combination over the finish line.

Still, we hope the TMNT cast continues to recreate famous episodes in pop culture, because this was one hilarious mash-up that we absolutely need more of. The Soup Nazi and Puffy Shirt stories from Seinfeld would be great raw material for the cast, and the possibilities in other great scenes from TV classics are basically endless.
