Spider-Man: Homecoming is due out in July, as the film's new (and final) trailer just reminded us. Before we get to what's sure to be one of the most spectacular blockbuster hits of the year, though, we first have the NBA finals. Here's the good news for Peter Parker: it looks as though he's got an invite to a pretty swanky NBA Finals party. Just check out this cross-promotional ad — starring Tom Holland, Robert Downey Jr. and Jon Favreau — that Sony and Marvel put together with the NBA:
I'm pretty sure an NBA Finals party with Tony Stark would be unforgettable. Given how much Spider-Man geeked out at the chance to take part in the superhero "civil war," I'm pretty sure he'll be eagerly anticipating a chance to meet up with some of his fellow superheroes over chips and guacamole.
(The one catch? He kind of revealed his age to everybody during the airport battle, so nobody's going to let this teenager get drinks. Even if he is wearing a mask.)
I've always loved when studios relax and have a bit of fun as part of their marketing, and this promises to be one of the best examples yet. Sony's called the video "NBA Finals Spot #1" so dare we hope to see the buildup to the party in further videos? I can't help suspecting we'll see a case of the ol' Parker Luck. The kid's got an invite - and hopefully that means we'll get to see the party too.
Which superhero do you think Spider-Man would irritate the most at a party?
