Profile Update: August 2018

Just a fairly quick post about updates with my profile.

I've decided to take a step back and go over the everything that was part of the ResurrXion event that began in March of 2017 and follow all of the titles that spun off from this event. Meaning that I will be going through X-Men Prime, X-Men Gold, Generation X, and more. But this also means that I'm going to go over some of the Inhumans titles, and if I am being honest, after the Death of X and X-Men vs. Inhumans storylines, I really do not like the Inhumans. So hopefully, the writers working on these titles do interesting things with the characters. Essentially, the ResurrXion event was supposed to explain and re-establish the status quo of the Inhumans and X-Men in the Marvel Universe. The first two titles spinning out of this are X-Men Prime and Inhumans Prime. Of course, first I will be going over the Death of X, more specifically, the first issue. The reason that I'm going to be going over the Death of X storyline is because it is the prelude to X-Men vs. Inhumans. And X-Men Vs. Inhumans is the prelude to the ResurrXion event.

I'm going to be giving you a quick rundown of everything title spinning out of ResurrXion that I'll be going over. These titles will likely have other spin-offs and crossover events that I likely will go over too. For example, Weapon X's spin-off title is Weapon H, and I will go over that. I'm just waiting for the story arc to end.

Of course, I also want to write about DC Comics titles as well. DC I find more difficult when it comes to figuring out what it is that I want to write because there is a hell of a lot of titles that spun out of DC Rebirth in the Summer of 2016 that were interesting and that I have not caught up with. So really, I think I'm just going to have to take some time to stay away from DC Comics in my posts because I'm going to need to read a whole lot of titles.

When it comes to indie comics, I will still be going over those as well. In fact, I still have Jupiter Jet, Iktomi, Yonge at Heart, and a few others that I need to go over as well. But those will come later in the month or early next month as I need to take time to read and analyze them.

The reason that I am making this post is because I want my profile to have more structure. Before this, I was writing things that I just felt like writing about, but writing about random stories in comics is not an easy thing to do, and the reason is that characters have a lot of history. There are events that certain characters have been a part of and are referenced in later comics that I haven't read and find really hard to explain when I haven't done so or haven't done so in a long time. And also, reading takes me an especially long time when it comes to reading titles that are over 30 issues long, and there are lots of them.

Again, this post is really short because it is just there to show all of you what it is going to be coming up in this profile, and what you have to look forward to. It’ll be pretty fun to go over all of the Marvel titles that I plan to go over. That concludes this post.
