Tamar Braxton, 40, and Vince Herbert, 44, got married on November 27, 2008. The pair met in 2003 through Toni Braxton, Tamar's elder sister who is also involved in the music and television industry.

Around the time Herbert met Tamar Braxton, he was an accomplished music executive, songwriter, and producer who had a reputable history of working with some very notable acts. In addition to producing solid hits for Tamar's sister Toni, Herbert had composed music for legends like Freddie Jackson and Babyface, as well as Beyoncé's super girl group Destiny's Child.

Herbert started dating Tamar soon after he met her. He eventually began managing her music career at some point. Herbert solidified the duties of being his wife's business manager after he became the CEO of Streamline Records, a subsidiary of the Intercope/Geffen/A&M conglomerate. Tamar's marriage to Herbert produced its first and only child on June 6, 2013. On that day, Tamar gave birth to a son named Logan (now four-years-old).

Also in 2013, Tamar had her second studio album released titled Love and War. It was her first project released under the Streamline Records banner and it birthed her the biggest hit of her career called The One. Tamar's Love and War is her most successful album commercially. In the first week after its release, the well-executed LP sold 114,000 units. Tamar barely lost to Ariana Grande for the number one spot on the charts.

The Tamar Braxton music train kept chugging along in 2013. For the holiday season, a special Christmas album by the singer was released by Streamline and Epic Records titled Winter Loversland. The 12-song project peaked at number 43 on the Billboard Top 200 music charts. In 2014, Tamar continued to ride the wave of her musical and television success by co-starring in a reality TV series with her sister Toni called Braxton Family Values.

All the while, Tamar enjoyed additional success alongside her husband by starring in a Braxton Family Values spinoff reality TV show called Tamar & Vince. This program originally debuted on We tv in September of 2012. With the success of Tamar's music projects, which were safe and sound under her husband's record label, as well as the solid viewership the family reality televisions shows were getting, Herbert and his wife were riding high.

However, trouble in paradise started to appear present in 2016 when rumors of Tamar and Herbert's divorce began to circulate. However, Herbert quelled the hearsay by doing an exclusive interview in July 2016 with Kevin Frazier, the host of Entertainment Tonight and founder of a celebrity gossip blog called HipHollywood.com. “When people see you have a blessing, they always want to tear you down," Herbert told Frazier.

These rumors began to surface when word of Tamar's alleged infidelity were made public by numerous national celebrity news sources. The perception of turbulence in the power couple's relationship was augmented in August of 2016 when reports of Tamar experiencing domestic abuse were exposed by TMZ. According to Harvey Levin & Company, Tamar was assaulted by Herbert during a stay at the Ritz-Carlton in Atlanta, Georgia.

However, all the divorce rumors were finally put to rest this week when Tamar came out and told the truth about everything she has been experiencing. An official rep for the singer gave an exclusive statement to People Magazine, which was published in an article on Wednesday (October 25th). Unfortunately, the solemn news comes approximately one month before the couple was set to celebrate their nine-year anniversary.

"At this time we can confirm Ms. Braxton has made an extremely difficult decision and has filed for divorce from Vincent Herbert. Collectively, their son Logan and his well-being during this extremely unfortunate process is most important. We ask that everyone respects her privacy during this incredibly difficult time. She appreciates everyone’s love and prayers," the statement partially reads.

Herbert also has his own personal problems in civil court as well. The veteran hit making boss lost a multi-million dollar lawsuit to Sony Music. According to Essence Magazine, a federal court issued a seven-figure default judgement against Herbert over a 2013 advance the music executive stopped making payments on at some point after the original deal between Streamline Records and Sony Music went down.
