'Rush Hour' Turns 18, What Are the Stars of the Film up to Today?

Everyone's favorite addition to the buddy cop genre is officially old enough to vote. 18 years ago, the ridiculously hysterical Brett Ratner-directed Rush Hour was released and earned over $244 million at the box office on a $33 million budget. The film spanned two installments and also solidified itself in film history for having one of the greatest blooper reels of all time:

"Fifty Million Dollars? Who you think you got, Chelsea... Carter?"

Let's take a look at what the cast of Rush Hour have been doing since!

Jackie Chan

Jackie Chan portrayed the insanely talented Inspector Lee in the 1998 hit and already built up an impressive filmography prior to the role, having a career spanning three decades and starring in such popular titles as Drunken Master and Rumble In The Bronx.

Where Is He Now?

• Since Rush Hour, Chan has starred in a number of hit films such as Shanghai Noon/Heights in 2000 and 2003, the wildly successful Kung Fu Panda trilogy, and has a number of upcoming projects slated for the next few years.
• These projects include The Foreigner with Pierce Brosnan, the 2017 sequel everyone is clamoring for in The Nut Job 2 with Will Arnett, and Warner Brothers' The Lego Ninjago Movie (2017) where Chan will lend his voice talents among a plethora of other stars including Dave Franco, Michael Peña and Kumail Nanjiani.
• His next film is entitled Skiptrace where he plays Hong Kong detective, Bennie Chan. It is slated to release on July 22nd, 2016 and also stars Johnny Knoxville. Watch the trailer below:

Chris Tucker

Chris Tucker portrayed the witty and wildly fantastic at his job, Detective James Carter and the chemistry between him and Chan is simply undeniable. Tucker was known prior to Rush Hour, being a regular performer on Def Comedy Jam and appearing in Friday and The Fifth Element.

Where Is He Now?

• He became a born-again Christian in 1997 thus deciding not to reprise his classic role of Smokey in the two sequels to Friday.
• His film career has been incredibly quiet since Rush Hour, appearing in only the two sequels until 2012 when he was a surprise favorite in the Academy Award-hit Silver Linings Playbook.
• Tucker encountered a bit of money trouble in 2011 when People reported that he was set to lose his $6 million home in Florida after owing the bank $4.4 million on the property. In 2014, CNN reported that he settled the tax issue with the bank and he even made light on his tax issue in his 2015 Netflix Special Chris Tucker: Live, stating,

"Take care of your business, man, and don’t listen to people. Do your own business. Be careful who you listen to, 'cause that’s the last time I let Wesley Snipes help me out with my taxes!”

• Tucker is still doing stand up today and will perform as part of the Wild West Comedy Festival in Nashville on May 20th, 2016.
• His next film is the upcoming war film Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk, slated to have its world release at the New York Film Festival on October 14th, 2016. Watch the trailer below:

Tom Wilkinson

Tom Wilkinson portrayed the main antagonist of the film Thomas Griffin a.k.a. Juntao, the Triad leader responsible for kidnapping the Chinese Consul's daughter, Soo-Yung. Wilkinson's filmography spanned over two decades prior to Rush Hour, starring in such films as Sense and Sensibility and The Full Monty.

Where Is He Now?

• Tom Wilkinson's career has grown immensely since the film, appearing in movies that span all kinds of genres, including Girl with a Pearl Earring and Batman Begins to The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and Selma.
• He recently appears as Scottish journalist Ewen MacAskill in the Joseph Gordon-Levitt-led Snowden and also appeared in this year's The Choice, a role that must have paid for a new addition to his house.
• His upcoming slate of films include This Beautiful Fantastic with Downton Abbey's Queen Jessica Brown Findlay, the Rachel Weisz-led historical drama Denial and 2017's highly anticipated Kong: Skull Island starring Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson. Watch the Comic-Con trailer below:

Ken Leung

I don't know about you, but Ken Leung as Sang freaked me the fuck out when I was younger (and now)...

Leung portrayed the terrifying Sang and has one of my favorite lines ever uttered by a villain:

"No problem... Just... Rush Hour"

His career prior to the film was relatively quiet, appearing in the black comedy Welcome to the Dollhouse, and the Richard Gere-led thriller, Red Corner.

Where Is He Now?

• Similarly to Wilkinson, Leung's career trajectory has only gone up since Rush Hour.
• After brief appearances in HBO's Oz and The Sopranos, Leung became series regular, Miles Straume, on ABC's motherfucking LOST.
• He's appeared in several films including Saw and a brief cameo for Saw V, Inside Man and most recently, as Admiral Statura in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
• He's currently on the NBC medical drama, The Night Shift, playing Dr. Christoper "Topher" Zia.

Rex Linn

Rex Linn portrayed Carter's best friend (not really) and ball buster, FBI Agent Dan Whitney. Linn appeared in a number of films prior to Rush Hour including Wyatt Earp and Clear and Present Danger.

Where Is He Now?

• Rex Finn has had smaller roles in numerous films including Blast From The Past, Cheaper By The Dozen, Appaloosa, Devil's Knot and A Million Ways To Die in the West.
• Finn has focused primarily on his television career, most notably portraying Sgt. Frank Tripp for ten seasons on the CBS hit CSI: Miami. He has had a few short stints on The Brink, Nashville and Better Call Saul.
• In June 2016, he appeared in the TV short American Con: The Meeting in which "a small group of investors suffer financial consequences after investing in a get rich quick scheme." See the short below:
