I'll take "movie installments virtually no one cares about" for $100, Alex. If you were one of the 12 people on Earth clamoring for the sequel to the 2013 #BradPitt-zombie flick, World War Z or itching for a reboot of the #FridayThe13th franchise, you must unfortunately wait a little while longer.

Friday The 13th Replaced By Aronofsky And Jennifer Lawrence Collaboration

#Horror fans were looking forward to this upcoming Friday the 13th as the remake to the iconic #Jason Voorhees franchise was set for release on that elusive date, just a few weeks before #Halloween. The studio had apparently been bouncing this film around its schedule and finally settled on the perfect date of Friday, October the 13th for a potential return to Crystal Lake.

'Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan' [Paramount]

The remake's initially slated date of October 13th has now been replaced by #DarrenAronofsky's latest film, mother! A new release date for the horror flick has not been announced. The upcoming drama stars Aronofsky's rumored girlfriend #JenniferLawrence, Michelle Pfeiffer, Javier Bardem and Domhnall Gleeson. The film's logline is as follows:

A couple whose relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence.

World War Z 2 Pulled From Its June Release Date, Leaving The Mummy Standing Alone

The 2013 film adaptation of the popular novel, #WorldWarZ managed to gross over $500 million worldwide despite the somewhat mixed reviews it received. With such financial success, it was only a matter of time before its sequel was announced, right? An official sequel was announced in December 2013 with the director of the upcoming #JurassicWorld2, J.A Bayona slated to direct and a release date of June 9th, 2017 set.

When Bayona left the project in January 2016, things just seemed to not go Paramount's way as a director for the sequel was never finalized despite rumored discussions of #DavidFincher joining.

'World War Z' [Paramount]

With the loss of World War Z 2, the only new release for June 9th is #Universal's upcoming #TheMummy starring Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis and Russell Crowe. The film follows an ancient princess who awakens from her crypt beneath the desert, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia, and terrors that defy human comprehension.

The Mummy also becomes one of four major studio tentpoles this summer to open unopposed alongside #Disney/#Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 on May 5, Paramount’s Transformers: The Last Knight on June 23 and #Sony/Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming on July 7.
