SHE Was Cast As HER in Disney's Live-Action Little Mermaid Movie?
A live-action remake of The Little Mermaid has been in the works for a while now, having moved into development last year, and directors and cast members have signed on and off since planning began
Now, I'm not one that follows all of the live Disney princess news, but with Chloe Grace Moretz being one of the best up-and-coming actresses, hearing that she is involved with the live-action remake piqued my interest.
A live-action remake of The Little Mermaid has been in the works for a while now, having moved into development last year, and directors and cast members have signed on and off since planning began. Now, with the rom-com master Richard Curtis at the helm of the script, there’s finally some movement. Chloe Grace Moretz confirmed on Instagram that she will star in the highly anticipated film as none other than Princess Ariel herself:
That's right, folks; Chloë Grace Moretz is our new Princess Ariel! We've seen her versatility in acting with movies such as Kick Ass, Carrie, and If I Stay, so I have no doubt that she will do a great job.

Where Are They Now: The Cast of RENT
Musical theater translated to the big screen has not always been appreciated by either fans of musicals nor fans of movies, though with the (subjective) success of recent films such as Into the Woods (2014) and The Last Five Years (2014), I thought we could go back to 2005 to see where the cast of RENT are now. I was in high school when RENT came out and all of my theater geek friends went to see it together and sing along, and we were not disappointed. As far as movie musicals go, RENT did a great job translating this operatic-esque show into a film that movie goers would respect as well, even having most of the original cast join for the movie. The Pearl by John Steinbeck
‘The Pearl’ is a well-known by under-read classic and, as a teacher, many of my students have absolutely loved it. Not just because it is short, but because it presents a storyline that is interesting and corrupting. Easy to read and easier to analyse, ‘The Pearl’ is one of Steinbeck’s hardest hitting classics with an underlying message about protecting what is actually important. By the end of the book, the reader is left defeated and believing in the wrong thing. The idealism around this book is incredible and it is so dark too. For a long while you are supporting the wrong people, thinking in the wrong way and the whole story becomes one long act of misdirection by Steinbeck to show in a ‘Monkey’s Paw’ fashion why we should never chase wealth and status.
