‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Official Trailer Review: Spider-Man Takes His Talents to Venice?!

A full breakdown of everything that you need to know about the new official trailer for 'Spider-Man: Far From Home,' and the origins of both Hydro-man and Mysterio are revealed.

Welcome, Spider-Man fans!!

I hope you guys enjoyed your weekend!!

Finally.

The Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer just dropped today and I’m so excited. Like the Avengers 4: Endgame and Captain Marvel trailers that preceded it, there’s a lot to unpack in this trailer.

Throughout this post, I will breakdown everything you Spider-Man fans need to know about the trailer. Also, I will discuss the characters who appeared in the trailer.

Spoiler Warning!

There may be some spoilers in this post. So, if you don't want to know more about the characters in this trailer, I highly recommend that you don’t read it.

For everyone else, welcome to Mike’s review!!

And without further ado, let’s get right to the Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer!!

Peter Parker is packing up to go to Europe.

The trailer opens up with Peter Parker (Tom Holland) finally getting a vacation and heading to Europe. In his room, Peter meets Nick Fury (Samuel Jackson) for the first time; he knows Peter. Fury then shoots Ned (Jacob Batalon) with a tranquilizer that sends Ned to sleep. *laughs*

It’s clear that Peter has been picked for an assignment and is needed for an important mission.

Hydro-man

As we transition further, we see shots of Hydro-man throughout the trailer. The trailer ends with Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) teaming up with Spider-Man to take down Hydro-man.

Hydro-man is your typical super low-key criminal. He has been a member of the “Sinister Syndicate.” Hydro-man is also able to turn his body into water, which is pretty cool.

In the comic books, he blames Spider-Man for his abilities. This aftermath caused Hydro-man to exact his revenge on the web-head, but he had never succeeded.

Imagine Sandman with water abilities.

You get the idea.

The fact that both Mysterio and Spider-Man are battling a giant body of water showcases that they’re out of their own element. You would think that Spider-Man would have an advantage in Venice battling Hydro-man on his own.

I guess we were wrong.

As of right now, our favorite neighborhood Spider-Man is at a disadvantage. At least Mysterio is willing to help him take down Hydro-man, right?

I can’t wait to see how story of this movie plays out!!

Peter Parker and Michelle are having a "serious" romance.

Throughout the trailer, Peter and his classmates arrived at the landmarks of Venice. It appears that there is a “serious” romance brewing between Peter and Michelle.

I guess her stalking plan finally worked out.

With Liz now gone, Peter and Michelle seem to be really connecting with one another.

Mysterio

In the trailer, it appears that Mysterio is either working alongside Nick Fury or perhaps working for him. Mysterio doesn’t initially have his fishbowl helmet, but this does get shown later in the trailer.

In the comic books, Mysterio is one of Spider-Man’s biggest villains. On the flip side, he is often used for comedic relief. Mysterio is a magician with the ability of hypnosis. Over the years, Mysterio has done several things, such as fake the death of Aunt May and turn Spider-Man’s allies against him.

I can definitely see this story being played out in the movie. If Mysterio manages to turn both Nick Fury and Michelle against Peter, he will gain more advantage in more ways than one.

As a side note, Mysterio likely knows Peter’s identity too, if he is working with SHIELD.

This makes Mysterio definitely more dangerous.

'Spiderman: Far From Home' hits theaters July 5!

Overall, the trailer was relatively short, but it also had a fun vibe to it. The action-packed battles between Mysterio and Hydro-man look like they will be very entertaining.

What stood out to me in this trailer is seeing Spider-Man using his web to fly in mid-air, which was a nice touch.

I really enjoyed this trailer!!

I hope you guys enjoyed watching the trailer as well!
