SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME IS NOW IN THEATRES!

I had the privilege of seeing the next chapter of "web head" yesterday, July 3rd, just in time to take the day off while the country observes Independence Day. The story takes place in Europe, during Peter's summer trip, and even though he just wants to enjoy his vacation (and impress M.J.), Nick Fury has a mission for Spidey.

Far From Home is a magnificent display of what a team of passionate individuals (cast and crew) can accomplish to impress the fans of Spider-Man, and lovers of the overall MCU. If you liked Spider-Man: Homecoming you'll love Far From Home.

It Truly Feels Like A Sequel

Far From Home is an absolute love letter to Homecoming. Everything we, the fans, complained about in Homecoming (i.e., Peter doesn't have to deal with the consequences to his actions) is dealt with in this movie in a more serious manner. The consequences of Peter's failure are severe in comparison to Homecoming. In Homecoming, if Spidey failed, it would mean war against Vulture, and whoever else had access to alien technology; but in Far From Home, if Spidey didn’t succeed in taking out the bad guys, the world as he knew it would have changed forever. That's not the only thing that's gotten better either!

The Action Is More Intense

Spidey isn't the frightened kid we've seen showcased in Homecoming. The characters are more interesting, and the story has expanded upon the universe. Ever since Peter Parker faced off against the Vulture, (and even went toe to toe with Thanos) he’s more confident being the web-slinging hero. As well as his mature attitude, he comes to the screen with a couple new moves and techniques, to make him look more like the Amazing Spider-Man we have all come to know and love.

How I Felt Leaving The Theatre

After the credits began to roll, I knew better than to leave my seat before I was satisfied with my after credit scenes. The first one teased us with a look into the future of Peter Parker's life, and hit me right in the nostalgia with the appearance of a fan favorite character. The second scene shown was a look into the future of the MCU with plot twists. I felt myself wanting more, and wishing I could jump to the future to see the next installment of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.

One of my biggest complaints of any action/superhero movie is “I want to feel as if the main character is in genuine danger.” In this movie, I kept asking myself, “how’s Peter going to make it out of this one?” I want to see the hero save some people, get beaten down, trampled on, and their suit to be totaled, and finally, I want to see the hero rise above all their obstacles. This film managed to scratch every itch and expectation I had for a Spider-Man film, and frankly, I went into the theatre expecting not to like this movie. “You done good Marvel. You done good."

One More Personal Thing: I must admit (much to the enjoyment of my significant other) during the final action scene I erupted into a cheer with “Yay! Spider-Man!”

Support Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man

All I want in the next coming weeks is for the Marvel lovers to support spidey in his fight against new villains in Far From Home. I am blessed to have seen Far From Home in IMAX, and I can't wait to go see it a second and third time.
