Returning to the Unbreakable Series on September 25th, M. Night Shyamalan has announced that Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis, Anya Talyor-Joy, and James McAvoy will be preparing to reprise their roles from the smash-hit films Unbreakable and Split. #Glass will serve as the third film in the trilogy.

Shyamalan has even announced that Sarah Paulson, well known for her work on #AmericanHorrorStory, will be joining the cast of Glass. The sequel is set to take place after the events of the surprise hit Split.

The upcoming movie will tell the story of Mr. Glass, David Dunn, and Kevin/The Beast in the third installment in Shymalan's Unbreakable Universe. To help the cast prepare for their January 18th, 2019 premier, Samuel L. Jackson announced in a discussion with Collider that the team will meet up on September 18th for rehearsals. The week after they will begin filming the movie.

Let's look back briefly at 'Unbreakable'.

To keep it as spoiler free as possible, #Unbreakable was a movie that launched in 2000. The film features Bruce Willis as character David Dunn, who finds out that he has obtained superhuman strength after surviving a train crash where 131 people have died.

During his search for the truth, he runs into a character by the name of Mr. Elijah Price, whom just goes by Mr. Glass. Glass has a unique disorder called type I osteogenesis imperfecta or brittle bone disease. Unlike Dunn who has never been sick in his life and isn't easily injured, Glass is quite the opposite.

Let alone is Dunn almost indestructible, he also has an extrasensory ability that allows him to see the past crimes people have committed. Thus setting the plot for the entirety of the film.

What about 'Split'?

#Split tells the story of James McAvoy's character Kevin Wendell Crumb, a man who fell victim to childhood abuse, which triggered his 23 personalities. Diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder, Kevin comes under a peculiar situation when one of his 23 personalities known as "Dennis" kidnapped and holds three teenagers prisoner.

Over the course of the film, Kevin falls under the treatment of his psychiatrist Dr. Karen Fletcher, whom feels that she has begun to make progess with curing Kevin's disorder. A dangerous task in its own, which could lead to the death of the three young women that were kidnapped. However, his therapist begins to suspect something else is going on and she begins to dig to find out the truth.

A few of his personalities begin to mention a rumoured 24th personality to the therapist, and she learns that this new one could be more dangerous than all the others. While the film progresses, Casey becomes the main protagonist of the film as she attempts to survive Kevin's personalities as she encounters them.

Where will 'Glass' take place?

If the movie follows the progression of the first two films accurately, the movie will take place 15 years after the events of Unbreakable if not a few more give or take the time span, and the progress that has been made. Hopefully Glass will give us a look into the life of Mr. Glass himself and how the fate of all these characters tie together.

Lets just cross our fingers and hope that M. Night Shyamalan can surprise us once more with another smash-hit blockbuster.
