Stand Alone Silver Surfer Movie Is In The Works
The time of the silver surfer is getting ever closer.
Big news coming out of Marvel's mutant universe, today, as The Hollywood Reporter, reveals that 20th Century Fox is developing a new, stand-alone movie for The Silver Surfer.
The Silver Surfer first landed on our screens in 2007 in Marvel's Fantastic Four: Rise of The Silver Surfer.
The Silver Surfer hails back to 1966 where he was first featured in The Fantastic Four comic, edition #48. A character (formerly-ish) known as Norrin Radd.
I can't wait for this one. The surfer has bags of potential with an origin story that is totally enthralling – maybe this will be part and parcel of the movie?
The studio, who clearly see the potential in the franchise has hired Brian K. Vaughn to write the new stand-alone story.
The Silver Surfer movie will have to wait its turn, however. There are currently multiple Marvel movies in the pipeline, including Drew Goddard's X-Force, and Deadpool 2.
And, let’s not forget Noah Hawley’s Doctor Doom movie is rattling around there, too, somewhere. It’s a crowded space but all are eagerly awaited so, let them queue, is what I say.
So, we must be patient but there will soon be supporting information coming our way regarding the future of the Silver Surfer.
Stay tuned to Vocal.
