'He Was A True Artist' - Anton Yelchin Passes Away Aged 27
Anton Yelchin has died at the age of 27. His publicist has confirmed that at the early hours of this morning he was killed in a crash. His friends and family were shocked by the news as he was on his way to rehearsals. They went to his home in San Fernando Valley and found him pinned between his car and a brick mailbox attached to a security gate. It's been reported that the car engine was running when his body was tragically found.
Yelchin began his acting career with minor roles in the indie films and television shows. Some of which being 'Judging Amy' and 'The Practice' before getting his big break in the 2006 crime thriller 'Alpha Dog'. His biggest role he is well known for is Chekov in the rebooted Star Trek films. The third film is still set to be released next month.
Yelchin was an only child in his family and was born in Russia to parents who are professional figure skaters. They moved to the US when Anton was a baby. Celebrities have taken to Twitter to mourn the tragic death. Before he died, he was working on numerous projects which include a TV Series called 'Mr Mercedes'. He's also known for other credits in 'Curb Your Enthusiasm', 'Law and Order', 'Terminator Salvation' and 'Fright Night'. Anton won acclaim for an innocence and humor that characterized many of his roles. Fellow Star Trek Actor said this:
