We're still a few months away from the Season 2 premiere of Netflix's #StrangerThings, yet the series continuing to get attention even while on hiatus. Most fans would assume the more revealing information about the sophomore season would be kept secret until a time closer to the Season 2 premiere. However, a new tidbit of information seems to contradict that assumption.

Gaten Matarazzo Reveals Season 2 Cliffhanger Will Continue Story In Season 3

#GatenMatarazzo, who plays Dustin on the series, was recently interviewed by Huffington Post, where he gave them the scoop on Season 2. In the interview, Matarrzzo spoke about new stories we'd see in the upcoming season and while that was definitely interesting, the more intriguing thing was Matarazzo's reveal of a cliffhanger ending to Season 2:

"(There's) a good amount of explanation that they’ve been looking for, but also there are some new stories coming in that you’re gonna want to hear about if there is a Season 3. Also, we got another cliffhanger in there for ya, so that’s gonna be exciting.”

What that story will be is anyone's guess but it's possible to guess we'll get even more exploration of the Upside Down; which we already know we're set to dive into further in Season 2. Then again, the #StrangerThingsSeason2 cliffhanger could kick off a whole new story arc. By the time the third season comes along, there could be an even greater, weirder threat out there. Perhaps even a plot thread that delves into another parallel universe entirely.
