Superman IRL: Henry Cavill Wields A Chainsaw To Help With Hurricane Irma Cleanup
Actor Henry Cavill, who portrays the Man of Steel in the DCEU, seems to have taken a few pointers from his character.
As a hero, Superman does whatever it takes to keep people safe and to restore order when chaos erupts. Actor Henry Cavill, who portrays the Man of Steel in the DCEU, seems to have taken a few pointers from his character; he headed to Florida to offer assistance with the massive cleanup after Hurricane Irma devastated the state earlier this month.
Cavill, who has been playing the Last Son of Krypton since 2013, posted a video on Instagram of himself wielding a chainsaw while standing atop a large tree limb. Check it out below:
The British-born actor added a caption to the video.
Popped over to Florida to help out some friends. Also got to use a chainsaw for the first time and as you can see it was almost my last time too! Wishing everyone a speedy rebuild process and a chainsaw accident free environment. #HurricaneIrma
While Cavill has lent his impressive muscles to the task, many celebrities have given out of pocket and have used their star power to raise money to help the victims of both Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. On September 12th, celebrities came together for a star-studded telethon that aired on several networks including ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, HBO, MTV and BET. The fundraiser was also streamed online. "Hand in Hand" raised over $44 million.
It's great to see actors helping with their wallets — and, in Cavill's case, it's even better to see them helping with their biceps.
