FetaGeekNewsPublished 6 months ago in GeeksThe Sandman: "Brief Lives"
There's no denying that Neil Gaiman's epic comic series The Sandman is a work of sheer brilliance; the sprawling horror fantasy encompasses ten volumes of individual issues, spanning various story arcs, all culminating in the saga of Lord Morpheus, Dream of the Eternals, whose brothers and sisters include Despair, Destiny, Desire, Delirium, Death, and Destruction. It is the latter, the renegade Destruction, who left his realm as an Eternal to strike out in the human world; on a remote island, with a curmudgeonly talking dog, and Destruction as his Boy (ala' Vic and Blood in Harlan Ellison's famous story). Across the way, on the famous Isle of Lesbos, lives Orpheus, son of Morpheus, a talking head guarded over zealously by a personal retinue of keepers.
Veins of Valour
Alex Thompson, a lanky journalist with a penchant for tripping over his own shoes, was notorious at City Chronicles for two things: his endless curiosity and his unfortunate ability to spill coffee on any new shirt he wore.
Discover A Gripping Story Of Retribution: Kagura Bachi
Discover A Gripping Story Of Retribution: Kagura Bachi This week’s manga recommendation Kagura Bachi by Takeru Hoazono is a truly captivating manga that masterfully immerses its readers in a gripping tale of vengeance, suspense, and breathtakingly vivid scenes of action. As you delve into the pages, you will find yourself transported to an alternative version of 1920s Japan – one that harkens back to the classic mob movies we've all come to admire. In this tumultuous world, the ever-present menace of the Yakuza coexists with an enigmatic group of powerful sorcerers whose abilities extend beyond the realm of human comprehension. At the heart of this unforgettable saga stands Chihiro Rokuhira, a 14-year-old boy determined to honor the memory and wisdom of his father, Kunishige – a legendary swordsman whose teachings revolve around responsibility, integrity, and the heavy emotional toll that inevitably comes with wielding a sword. Throughout his journey, Chihiro faces numerous challenges and harrowing encounters as he grapples with the complex ethics and relentless hardships that define his path as an aspiring fighter in this beautifully crafted narrative.

Okay so last week in Gen V we dealt with our main characters being mind wiped and not knowing what was going on. They also just found out that Cate is the one behind their memory lapses. Andre is very hurt (as he should be) and Cate seems to have switched sides so that she stands with her friends now.
Alexandrea CallaghanPublished 6 months ago in GeeksThought On Flawed Inclusion In Marvel Comics
Introduction With films becoming more inclusive and audiences rewarding many of these movies at the box office I have been thinking a lot about inclusivity in art. Examining 4 of my favourite black Marvel characters seems to show a positive outcome for representation even if their early depictions (and perhaps some of their modern ones) have their flaws. Specifically, Black Panther, Blade, Storm and Miles Morales were all flawed or controversial depictions of black characters mainly created by white men, but overall these creators were successful in their goal of adding some diversity to the Marvel universe.

Even with the ongoing strike celebrities, influencers and companies managed to put on a decent Comic Con.

We left off episode 4 with Emma getting all big trying to subdue Sam at the doctors house. And there is this really hard cut and our characters don’t seem to remember anything from the night and day before. So we are missing big giant chunks of time from a very intense moment. And though it seems like it was just a giant party there seems to be more going on.

Gen V is now releasing week to week after dropping 3 episodes at once. The first 3 episodes did a great job of setting up the story, the characters and the conflict. I think it does a great job of staying consistent with the world we already know from The Boys. Nothing in the spin off contradicts existing canon and it does a really good job of expanding on the parts of the world that The Boys doesn’t really show us.
