Amour (2012)
The movie "Amour" was directed by Michael Haneke and we begin by acknowledging the difficulty of discussing this movie but I recommend it to the audience. The movie is about the late relationship between two octogenarian intellectuals in Paris and explores the themes of love and death. Haneke's ability to transmit a vast range of extreme emotions through his cinematography and the actors' naturalistic performances are powerful. The plot seems simple but is complex and uses film angles, scenography, decor, and soundtrack to leave an impression on the viewers. I mention a particular scene where Georges sings while Anne sits in a chair, explaining how it's a metaphor for the film's temporal ambiguity.

"The truth is like a giant puzzle; as we each hold onto our own individual piece, we can only see a small part of the picture and it is only through God's eyes that we can see the entire picture."

Back, and to the left... back, and to the left... back, and to the left. When you create space for a lie, in any situation where it can evolve undisturbed, it will grow, and subsequent developments will quickly become unpredictable and uncontrollable. This should not surprise or anger anyone, as it is a natural part of human nature. Studies on lying (i.e. the conscious and interested modification of the truth) show that when it is not necessary, it has only pathological explanations. We are not talking about those, but we ask ourselves honestly: When is lying necessary? Are there such situations?

Everybody wants to be a hero most of the time. When a hero is done right, we admire and want to be like them. If they are good looking and charming also, we might have some delectable fantasies about them. However, there are many villains that are not mentioned in regards to how their portrayel of darkness worked a spell of sexiness upon the viewers. Here are my picks for a top ten list of the sexiest villains to grace the silver screens.

With its marvellous screenplay and clutch of fine performances, John Wick: Chapter 4, directed by Chad Stahelski from a script by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch, is a fittingly flamboyant and fast-paced finale that packs a massive punch. It's hard to believe that a nearly three-hour movie could be so fun, but John Wick: Chapter 4 is one of the most entertaining films of recent years.

SHAZAM: Fury Of The Gods_Movie Review
“Shazam! Fury of the Gods” is the sequel to the 2019 superhero movie “Shazam!”. As a studio-produced sequel and a superhero movie made in 2023, it arrives with two strikes against it. One would expect a certain level of creative committee-mandated monotony regardless of how one feels about the first movie. However, the makers of “Shazam!” toned down both the cynicism and sentimentality that have come to define lighthearted superhero movies. “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” meanders further in that direction.

Damien Chazelle’s latest film “Babylon” takes us back to the 1920s, during the transition from silent films to talkies, and explores the magic of Hollywood, the tireless pursuit of perfection, and the cost of fame. The film’s protagonist is Manny Torres (Diego Calva), a Mexican American who is trying to get an elephant to an insane Hollywood party. Chazelle uses the debaucherous party scene to introduce us to the ensemble cast, which includes Nellie LaRoy (Margot Robbie), an aspiring actress whose star is about to rise, Jack Conrad (Brad Pitt), a silent film star about to leave his third wife, and a jazz trumpet player named Sidney (Jovan Adepo), among others.

In Matt Ruskin's "Boston Strangler," Keira Knightley delivers a compelling performance as Loretta McLaughlin, a wife and mother who works at the Record-American newspaper. Alongside her partner Jean Cole (played by Carrie Coon), Loretta discovers a connection between recent murders in the area, in which women are strangled with their underwear tied around their necks in a bow. The two women are the first to pursue and broadcast this connection through the paper, aware of the importance of this information for women all around the greater Boston area.

Emmanuel Osei-Kuffour Jr.'s captivating directorial debut "Black Box" delves into the significance of memory and one man's struggle to connect with his past. The film centers around Nolan, a photographer who lost his memory due to a car accident that killed his wife, making it difficult for him to bond with his daughter. In their poignant relationship, she helps him by writing reminders about everyday tasks on Post-it notes placed throughout the house. However, when it comes to his wife and their relationship, Nolan is left with numerous questions, which Mamoudou Athie's sensitive performance helps to bring to life. It's a grounded approach to a profound crisis, in which Nolan is desperate to discover what kind of husband he was.
