Back in 2007, 'The Big Bang Theory' made its debut appearance on television. When the show began to appear on cable, the popularity of the show went sky high! Today a lot of the episodes are ranked towards the top of the weekly network television ratings. The show has ran for nine series and a tenth is already in the making. But despite the show being incredibly popular globally, there are untold sneaky secrets which have only just been revealed to the public.

The Show Has Two Pilot Episodes

The show has been running for nearly a decade now. Ever since it's original pilot episode, major changes were made when CBS turned the show away. Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) is presented to the public as asexual and slightly more mystified by romance. Pilot one reportedly showed Sheldon as an incredibly sexually active character.

There was also no sign of Penny portrayed by Kaley Cuoco in the original pilot. Originally, a grumpy and unfriendly lady would live in apartment opposite Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon. The tough woman was named Katie and was played by Amanda Walsh.

Today we see Sheldon and Leonard wearing casual clothes when going to work and when at home. For example; jeans and a hoodie. But in the original pilot episode, they were written to constantly wear suits wherever they went.

The original theme song was "She Blinded Me With Science" by Thomas Dolby in 1983. CBS said no to the pilot and told them to rework on the show and then come back with another pilot. When they returned with pilot number two, they included the song by the 'Barenaked Ladies' and is rather catchy to all the desired fans out there.

Melissa Rauch Puts On The Voice Of Bernadette

Bernadette is well known for her squeaky, high pitched and irritating screaming raged voice. But this isn't Melissa's normal and everyday voice. Melissa took inspiration from someone rather close to home. Her own mother. Obviously they share the same vocal DNA, they both have one major difference between them. Bernadette lacks her real life counterpart's thick New Jersey accent.

CBS Were Sued Over 'Soft Kitty'

Sheldon's well known song for when he's sick is rather popular in the show. Just like 'Smelly Cat' in 'Friends'.

The Co-Creator of the show reportedly explained that he heard 'Soft Kitty' being sung at his daughters pre-school. So, Bill Prady decided to add it in to the Series. Nowadays we see the famous sick song across merchandise in selected stores.

However, the family of a New Hampshire teacher called Edith Newlin suddenly sued CBS and Bill Prady Productions for copyright over the song "Warm Kitty". There is one main difference in the song "Warm Kitty" and "Soft Kitty". I'll let you find the difference.

The 1937 song goes:

"Warm kitty, soft kitty, little ball of fur."

Bill Prady added it into 'The Big Bang Theory' in this way:

Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur."

Mayim Bialik Was On The Show Before She Was On The Show

f you cast your minds back to 2008 in "The Bat Jar Conjecture", Sheldon is kicked out of the Physics Bowl team and then Leonard, Howard (Simon Helberg) and Raj (Kunal Nayyar) need to kind a replacement for the fourth member of the team. Raj suddenly nominates "the girl who played TV's Blossom". Mainly because she has earned a Ph.D in real life. The actress of TV's Blossom is in fact Mayim Bialik.

Mayim then joined the main cast of the show as Amy Farrah Fowler in 2009 in the Season Three finale. She has been a recurring character ever since as Sheldon's "lover". Despite him being against romance. However, Mayim only just scrapped the role of Amy as the producers preferred her better. Mayim was up against the actress and "Garfunkel and Oates" musician Kate Miccuci. On the other hand, Kate wasn't left out of the show completely, producers gave her a brief role in the show. The introverted oman Raj dates very briefly was given to Kate.

With Season Nine of the show completed, Season Ten is already in production. Now it's rumoured that the show is filming it's last Season of the show as the cast's contracts run out at Season 10. But, the cast are keen to continue on. It is currently unknown what will happen after Season 10.
