Following a deep discussion between CBS and Warner Bros. TV, The Big Bang Theory has officially been renewed for at least 2 more seasons! This means #TheBigBangTheory (CBS' longest running comedy sitcom) will be on our screens until 2019, which is when season 12 will draw to a close.

With the show continuing on past season 10, it means the five main stars, Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar have all agreed to sign a fresh contract. However, there's no confirmation as of yet if Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik have signed a new contract, but they are expected to according to sources.

"We'll put it on for as ling as everyone wants Big Bang on the air. I hope it lasts forever." - CBS chief, Glenn Geller.

Executive Producers Have Been Planning Past Season 10 For A While Now

Executive producer and showrunner of The Big Bang Theory, Steven Molaro, has been speaking to Entertainment Weekly, and has said he wasn't looking at season 10 being the last ever season of the show. However, he has expressed that he does have an idea in mind on how he can end the show.

"I have personal thoughts that have been floating around in my head, but we haven't really talked about it. It always seems like this thing that's off in the distance forever. Until it becomes closer to reality, I'm not going to think about it all that much, because it makes me sad." - Steven Molaro

The Big Bang Theory seasons 11 and 12 will be running alongside the show's spin-off, which will tell the story of Sheldon as a young boy, before meeting his friends he has now. Iain Armitage is to play young Sheldon, and currently season 1 episode 1 has no official air date.

You can catch The Big Bang Theory on Thursdays at 8pm on CBS.
