The Flashpoint Fan Cast for CW TV

Presenting a fan cast for CW TV with more intelligent choices than the studios; making a multiverse proper, if you will.

Ok so we now know that the hit TV show the Flash is going to have it's first episode of season 3 called the Flashpoint. A clear cut reference to the Flashpoint Paradox, one of DC's hit comic books that includes Barry Allen going into the past and saving his mother from the Reverse-Flash thus creating an alternate timeline where the Flash never existed and the world is a vastly different place as it was before. This world is now a nightmarish hell on earth type of scenario. Now the first part of the flashpoint has already happened in the show and the second part is set to start in season 3. However, as DC has decided to limit their tv and movie universes to prevent continuity errors, they have made sure that all major movie characters will not appear in film therefore limiting Batman, Superman, Wonder woman, Aquaman and Cyborg from appearing in the Flashpoint. This is my fan casting, considering the what if situation if studios were a bit more intelligent and allowed original tv characters they themselves created to appear as the original characters, making a multiverse proper if you will. Except for one reasonable exception, all of these characters have been tv versions of the roles I select for them or been in some form of DC television.

1) Flash: Grant Gustin

This is clearly a no-brainer. The producers of the Flash have created the most comic book realistic Barry Allen and Grant Gustin brings a wit and silliness to the character that truly portrays the real Barry Allen as the comics do sans the highly ripped physique. He has truly evolved the character throughout the seasons and no-one can portray him better.

2) Batman: Jeffrey Dean Morgan

This is the exception. This was another no-brainer. I really liked the portrayal of Thomas Wayne by Jeffrey Dean Morgan in Batman vs Superman. He truly looked the father of Batfleck. Plus we've seen him use guns in Supernatural and act like a kick ass and take names, gruff, mentor character so him becoming the dark Batman is easy and a simple progression.

3) Superman

This was a tough call. Henry Cavill has done an amazing job as Kal-el in the Man of Steel and BVS but he's too muscular for the Superman that is in the Flashpoint Paradox. I'm going with Tom Welling on this one. He's portrayed Superman in about 10 seasons of Smallville and fans could be comfortable with the development of the character as seen through 10 seasons. Plus he looks much younger too, even now.

4) Reverse Flash: Tom Cavanagh

This was another easy decision. The insidious take on the character, the pure psychopathic tendencies brought in by the fake Dr Harrison Wells gave us a true villain to be frightened off in the Flash. Now we know that Harry is a good guy but damn if he doesn't make a better villain.

5) Wonder Woman: Adrianne Palicki

There was a 2011 tv pilot for wonder woman. I don't know if most of you have seen it but it is pretty good compared to the low quality television we get today. So this woman Adrianne Palicki had pretty good acting as wonder woman and I think she would make an interesting addition to the cast of this flashpoint. Plus she has done good acting as Barbara Morse in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

6) Aquaman: Alan Ritchson

Another Smallville veteran Alan Ritchson portrayed Aquaman well in his limited budget and costume. We can upgrade those and thus provide a truly great Aquaman experience. Plus without costume he could portray Arthur Curry pretty well. He's got the build and face for it.

7) Cyborg: David Ramsey

I know that most fans fan cast him as the Green Lantern John Stewart (especially after all the easter eggs they left in arrow) but I can also see him as cyborg in the flashpoint. He has the build, the gun experience in Arrow and the look plus I think he can bring the angst we're used to with Cyborg in some series.
