With one month to go until San Diego Comic-Con 2016 and less than two months to go until Suicide Squad, it's fair to say we're going to have a lot of art thrown our way between now and August 5th — including director David Ayer's reveal of a fantastic new poster:

If your eyes can adjust to the sheer beauty, you'll notice that there are a ton of Easter Eggs and hints littered throughout the poster. So, let's take a look:

Joker, Harley Quinn, and Deadshot are the selling points.

Positioned right above the logo are the ensemble film's stars: Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, and Will Smith. Leto's Joker — as controversial as he might be — is looking as elegant as a clown can look, wearing a silver suit with slicked back hair and sporting a maniacal smile.

To his right we have Harley Quinn, baseball bat slung behind her neck with a slight smirk on her painted face. This is probably the most tame we're going to see Harley Quinn for a long time, so maybe we should enjoy it while it lasts.

And to complete the trifecta, Deadshot — sans mask — is aiming his wrist-mounted gun at an unseen enemy. These three also receive top billing, as seen at the top of the poster.

Amanda Waller and Rick Flag aren't playing a small role either.

Directly below the big three are Viola Davis and Joel Kinnaman, flanking the Suicide Squad logo on both sides. Neither seem to be doing anything particularly aggressive, but they're probably here to remind the audience that there are good guys in the movie. Well, semi-good guys. Either way, we can expect to see them quite a bit in the movie, especially since they round out the top billing.

Enchantress is alone again (with some funky powers).

At the bottom of the poster we have Cara Delevingne's Enchantress performing some weird voodoo magic. The green and purple colors around her emphasize that she's standing separate from the rest of the crew; does this finally confirm the rumors that she's the main villain and causes all the multi-colored damage seen in the trailers?

She'll probably also feature heavily in the film, seeing as she (along with the main three) has been getting the spotlight on a couple magazine covers. On top of that, her character is also the most enlarged on the poster.

It's an explosion, it's a skull, it's a motif!

All the doodles on the poster seem to form a wispy image, but what it actually is is open to interpretation. My initial idea was that they form a skull, but with the smoke and jet streams coming out, it's probably an explosion. Either way, the message is clear: Death, death, death.

Overall, the poster does an amazing job representing the movie. It's loud, it's busy, it's colorful, but most of all it's fun. The doodles surrounding a character tie into their powers (fire, boomerangs, target practice), and there's a feeling of excitement that draws us into the poster.
