Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan has appeared in The Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, The Sum of All Fears and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. Now the character is coming to Amazon Prime for a new series, appropriately titled Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan.

Amazon just released he first teaser, which unveils John Krasinski as the titular character, previously played by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine. In this iteration, Krasinski's Ryan is an up-and-coming CIA analyst who takes on a dangerous mission in the field for the first time. Watch it below:

The 35-second teaser doesn't showcase much of the plot, but it does hint at the tone for the series, and Krasinski is instantly convincing in the role.

John Krasinski's career has transformed quite dramatically over the years since his breakthrough role as Jim Halpert in NBC's comedy The Office. Krasinski has proven to be more than just a comedic force, delving into darker roles. Most recently he appeared in the police brutality drama Detroit and the military drama 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Bengazhi.

Even though we only see a single short scene of this new Jack Ryan on screen, it looks like fans of the novels will be in for a treat with Krasinski bringing the character to life. With over two dozen novels to draw from, there is a lot of ground to cover. Krasinski carries an unyielding presence on screen, which is exactly what fans would expect to see from the iconic Clancy character.
