It was a case of "Ice to meet you" when Game of Thrones returned for a frosty reception and its Season 7 premiere. With the Lannisters and Greyjoys teasing an uneasy alliance, Jon Snow gathering his northern armies, and Queen Daenerys finally stepping foot on Westeros, there was plenty to keep us talking.

However, a surprise storyline followed the nefarious Brotherhood Without Banners and their new recruit Sandor Clegane, a.k.a. The Hound. While we have already suggested that there is more to come from Rory McCann as The Hound, Clegane's newfound powers also held another big clue to where we are going next.

White Walking On Sunshine

As a reformed rogue, Clegane seemed ready to open his eyes to the Lord of Light under the tutelage of Beric Dondarrion and Thoros of Myr. For those who have followed the show from the start, you will know exactly how important visions and prophecies are to HBO's saga, so what did we learn?

As the burned bastard peered into the flames of a winter fire, he saw the following:

"Ice. A wall of ice. The Wall. It’s where the Wall meets the sea. There’s a castle there. There’s a mountain. Looks like an arrowhead. The dead are marching past. Thousands of them."

It doesn't take a genius to work out that The Hound is referring to Eastwatch-by-the-Sea, which is unfortunately where Jon Snow has sent Tormund Giantsbane and his Wildling forces. However, it is what we didn't hear that is all the more interesting.

Business Insider points out that HBO's official #GameofThrones premiere recap includes an extended scene of dialogue. It is unknown why the premiere cut the line, but it is probably because it offers a spoilerific tease of where Season 7 is heading:

"It's where the wall meets the sea. The waves are frozen. There's a castle there."

Fans were quick to point out that the signs of a frozen sea could be what we saw the army of White Walkers marching on at the very start of the episode. If the ocean is frozen, it could be as simple as the Night's King walking his army of evil around the mythical Wall. While the White Walkers simply circumnavigating the Wall would be one hell of an anticlimax, we are still expecting to see the giant landmark fall before the season is out — especially if a certain horn comes into play.

Otherwise, the promise of a frozen sea could lead to an epic battle on the icy ocean. We have already seen huge action scenes during the likes of the Battle at Blackwater, Hardhome, and the Battle of the Bastards, while fans are hotly anticipating the next big brawl. The various trailers and promos point to some serious arctic action coming at some point this year, and rounding off Season 7 with a White Walker war (or even an ice dragon) would certainly get everyone talking.
