The Movies I Watched on Netflix This Month

Top 10

Netflix has taken over a lot of my free time. I have always loved watching movies and TV shows, pouring myself into the plot of the characters I'm watching and bringing them up in everyday conversation with my friends. I enjoy the hidden gems that have low ratings and are not in the ‘popular on Netflix’ category. I watch a lot of movies and shows so I don’t want to watch the same plot with different actors. Although I do love the latest Netflix Originals, I won’t include To All the Boys I Have Loved and The Kissing Booth in this top 10 list but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go watch them immediately if you have not seen them already.

1. 'The First Time'

A movie about losing your virginity…how original. With that being said, I loved this movie. I enjoy the dynamic between the actors and I think their chemistry makes their story so relatable. This is a Rom com, but it is not a sappy movie with a predictable plot. It has real life encounters that I think although can be embarrassing to talk about, it is what really happens!

2. 'The Package'

I wouldn’t say this is a must see but I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected so I think you will to. It is extremely funny and has a little bit of a love story embedded in the plot but mostly it is about some friends coming together for a camping trip where they can be without their parents to mess around before they start their first year out of high school.

3. 'P.S. I Love You'

This is honestly one of my all-time favorite love stories. It has such a unique plot and you will cry! I don’t want to spoil it even a little because you need to get the full experience on your own! Add this to your next movie night ASAP!

4. 'DUDE'

If you are 20-something millennial missing your high school memories, this is the movie for you. This movie is raw and truthful with a cast that I personally could relate with on so many levels. The plot extends way past your average high school story.

5. 'To the Bone'

This movie is a bit more serious than the previous movies I have recommended. It is about a woman who suffers from an eating disorder. It is not all doomsday vibes, it also has humor, inspiration and relatability. I have personally never suffered from an eating disorder but I mean most people are not completely comfortable in their own skin so I think if you can relate to that, this movie can really brighten your day with hope.

6. 'Good Kids'

I was at home getting ready for work and I already finished my steady TV shows I had been watching. I needed some background noise so I put on the Good Kids. 10 mins into it, I turned it off…because I wanted to watch with my full attention! It was a tale about a group of friends who were in different stages of their lives helping each other figure it all out.

7. 'The Spectacular NOW'

I am a pretty big fan of Miles Teller so while you’re reading about this movie, look up all his movies…he’s fantastic. This movie is a very honest and real love story. The chemistry between the cast jumps off the screen and it doesn’t have your typical fairy tale ending.

8. 'Would You Rather?'

Have you ever watched a scary movie where you could think of how it could be better or I would of liked it if it ended like this instead? Well…I would say that for this movie however I do think it has an interesting plot and I would recommend.

9. 'When We First Met'

Can you tell I enjoy Romcom’s? This one is a classic ‘friend zone’ tale. The actors in this film are well known but I do think there are a lot of people who haven’t see it yet and I must spread the word!

10. 'Hush'

I will mention I did not absolutely love the ending to this movie but I do think it was a crazy roller coaster of thrill and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a different turn to the typical scary movie of a woman trying to avoid being murdered.

I hope you enjoy at least one of these movies, thank you for reading!
